The most interesting about this release is the inclusion of forthcoming releases from Frontiers. The most exciting is Talisman's coming album "Cats & Dogs". The track
Outta My Way sounds very promising from the technical skilled musicians. The song has a monster bass intro from Marcel Jacob and an amazing bass/guitar duel.
Drive she Said has reunited with their keyboard oriented
Foreigner rock. The pre-taste of their forthcoming album includes some tasty lead guitar work.
Since this web-site is based in Denmark we have to highlight Torben Lysholm's new band Mystrell. Some might recognize Torben from Pangea. Torben new project Mystrell will satisfy all Pangea fans. I have always like his vocals and his characteristic guitar work, which is following the tradition from Pangea.
I have been looking forward to
Hardline singer Johnny Gioeli's collaboration with Loudness guitarist Jun Senoue.
Crush 40 is the project entitled. After hearing the
Crush 40 song I am not sure whether to be disappointed or not. I think I have to wait for the full album before I make my opinion. The song
Into The Wind is a bit disappointing, especially after
Hardline's second album was such a killer album.
The track that overshadows the rest is former
Mr. Big frontman
Eric Martin.
I'm Goin' Sane is the title track from his 2002 release. The song is displaying a mature
Eric Martin accompanied by a dark guitar sound. For some reason we never got a promo copy of this album. A shame since this song is one of the best-written in 2002.
I have never been a fan of compilations, but if you want an updated insight to the Hard/Melodic Rock scene this release is the one to buy. Since the album is only showcasing Frontiers own bands there are some misses. However, this compilation contains 33 tracks, so there is full value if you want to purchase this release. Otherwise go read the full reviews on this site and buy the artists entire albums.
Go explore.
