Playlist - August/September - 2006 - Steen
Two festivals, two weeks in a row and lots of other happenings have kept me busy recently. I did manage to listen to some music and discovered several cool classics this past month. I just couldn't resist the well stocked Metal Market at Wacken Open Air and found many cool gems there.

Virgin Steele - Visions of Eden
Still impressing me with every listen. Amazing album.

Metal Church - A light in the Dark
A strong release.

Metal Church - Metal Church
A totally brilliant album, which I have only just started getting into. I wonder how I didn't discover this band earlier.

Wastefall - Self Exile
Complex and very compelling.

Ricochet - Among the Elements
A small gem of Progressive Rock/Metal.

Exodus - Bonded by Blood
Wow! What a total attack on the senses. Extremely cool oldie I have only just discovered.

Love/Hate - Wasted in America
Sounds pretty good after the first few listens.

Le Mans - Out on the streets
Very interesting hard rock with Derek Frigo (R.I.P.) on guitar.

Cheap Trick - Rockford
It is shaping up to be an absolutely fantastic album. Memorable songs, great melodies and a strong Beatles inspiration shines through in several songs. Just what I need to get in a good mood.

Motörhead - Ace of Spades
Great, in your face rock 'n' roll. A very pleasant surprise.

Quireboys - Tramps & Thieves (Single)
Excellent party single to get a taste of the band.

Quireboys - Live CD
(S)Excellent party album.

Metal: A headbangers Journey (DVD)
A great and satisfying view for anyone interested in music. I just wish the documentary had been an hour longer since some sections could have benefitted from a little more detail. The DVD has some great extras as well. Lemmy really steals the show.
