Playlist - November/December 2005 - Steen
Dogpound - A Night In The Gutter
The guys from Sweden are back with another great album. Highly recommended to hard rock fans looking for something fresh. Full review is coming soon.

Oliver Wakeman - Mother's Ruin
Just starting to get into this one which sounds very promising. Symphonic rock with a great atmosphere.

Ill Nino - One Nation Underground
Surprise surprise. This one caught me by... yes, surprise, and I am feeling more and more attracted to the music with each listen. Takes a while to get used to the aggressive vocals, but there is something about this one that I like.

Thy Majestie - Jeanne D'Arc
Symphonic power metal from Italy. Not terribly original but solid nonetheless. If you like Rhapsody then there is a good chance this is right up your alley. This one also has one of the funniest covers I have seen all year. Who on earth came up with that armor design??? Haha!

Deadsoul Tribe - The Dead Word

Being a great fan of Psychotic Waltz and the first Deadsoul Tribe albums I was awaiting this one with great anticipation. Unfortunately The Dead Word sounds really disappointing on the surface, with the majority of songs revolving around a repetitive melody or riff. Still, three listens is not nearly enough to make a final judgement so I hope I'm wrong but this one sounds utterly boring and uninspired so far.

Edguy - Superheroes DVD
Great fun and recommended for all Edguy fans.

Bon Jovi - Have A Nice Day
Bon Jovi delivers another healty dose of ear cathing rock. Wow, there are some really great songs on this one. Personal favorites are Who says you can't go home, I am, Complicated and Novocaine but every song has something. It's not like I expected the band to be original, and I don't think they have to be as long as the music is this good, but the title track is taking it a bit too far. It sounds like a complete rehash of It's My Life mixed with Someday I'll Be Saturday Night.

Sieges Even - The Art Of Navigating By The Stars
Finally bought my copy of the album and listening to it while reading the lyrics added that final layer to this challenging work of art. Highly recommended!

Starbreaker - Starbreaker
Had to get this one after reading Alanna's review and hearing a song on Tommy's crappy stereo... It certainly delivers a forceful slap in the face and Lies has become my current brain infection. I'm close to proclaiming Magnus Karlsson, who also wrote all the songs for the Allen Lande album, a genius.

Place Vendome - Place Vendome
Really pleasant music with a top notch vocal performance by Michael Kiske. Not groundbreaking by any means, but if you're into AOR'ish rock then give it a chance. Full review is coming soon.

@Pat: Yeah but I'm a bit odd too :) (NI!!)

@Kim Bendix: Oh yeah that most excellent band Headless Rider, from whom I have never heard a full song!! I wonder why they are not on my playlist haha

@maiden fan: No there wasn't a big discussion about the Maiden/Ozzfest issue. What do I think about it? Far out... It's hard to say because I don't know all the facts, but from what I have read what happened was extremely unprofessional and made me loose my last bit of respect for the Osbournes.
