Warrel Dane - Praises to the war machine First listen gives the impression of a fantastic album. The unavoidable comparison to Nevermore shows a less aggressive but highly atmospheric, emotional and still powerful approach that suits Warrel Dane's unique vocals perfectly. Look forward to this one at the end of April. Jon Oliva's Pain - Global Warning Rough and tender, aggressive and emotional, Jon Oliva is back with his third solo album. A melting pot of styles and moods makes this a varied and challenging album. First listen gave a mixed impression, especially due to that thing called vocal distortion but fourth time through the album starts growing heavily. "Firefly" has quickly become a personal favourite. A truly breathtaking song that shows how Jon Oliva is still able to create music that soars. Circle II Circle - Delusions of Grandeur I was quite surprised on my first listen. I know, I missed out on "Burden of truth", but it seems the band have turned up the speed and heaviness quite a few notches. Zak's voice gives a lot of leeway and a few more listens will show if this approach works wonders. RPWL - The RPWL Experience Progressive rock of the relaxing and psychedelic variety. A highly promising album with memorable melodies and special warmth. Firewind - Mercenary Man A solid Power Metal disc. Neverland - Reversing Time (Progressive Symphony metal) Still getting plenty of listening time. Very good effort, but lacking something truly spectacular. CD purchases of the month Loverboy - VI WildKard - Megalomania Bruce Turgon - Outside looking in
