AC/DC. Powerage For AC/DC standards a rather diverse Rock album with a thick and bluesy atmosphere. One of their best in my opinion. AC/DC. For Those About To Rock (We Salute You) Strong disc with some forgotten gems like Put The Finger On You and the moody Spellbound. AC/DC. Flick Of The Switch Solid album with a simple approach, great riffs and awesome vocals. AC/DC. Family Jewels (DVD) A bit of soccer on stage and then a completely crazy version of Fling Thing/Rocker is a clear highlight on these two discs filled with historical videos. A nice package indeed. AC/DC. Live At Donnington (DVD) Classic and highly powerful performance. AC/DC. Plug Me In (3 DVD) A seven hour nostalgic look back at over 30 years of pure Rock N´ Roll. I'm really impressed with the quality of the material, some of these performances are truly special, Ride On, Bedlam In Belgium, If You Want Blood (You Got It) and the list is almost endless. The interviews are really funny, I only miss some mid/late eighties material. Avantasia. The Metal Opera Pt. 1+2 Bombastic, intriguing and utterly melodic. Danger Danger. Cockraoch (2 CD) Some of these songs also appear on Four The Hard Way and Return Of The Great Gildersleeves. Shot Of Love is only to be found here and indeed a most excellent Melodic Rock track. Dio. Magica Sadly he isn't with us anymore but his voice and music lives on. I always liked this quite atmospheric and epic disc, spellbinding vocals as always. FM. Metropolis A strong and consistent album showing that they still have it in them. Iron Maiden. Death On The Road (DVD) The visual side isn't fantastic but the guys play extremely well, Rainmaker sounds phenomenal live. Masterplan. Time To Be King It's nice to hear Jorn back and there's some really powerful songs in here, still I miss something really outstanding, especially compared to the outstanding debut. Nevermore. The Obsidian Conspiracy Fast, trashy, melodic and dark shrouded. It's Nevermore all right and another quality release. Pendragon. The Window Of Life Progressive Rock of high standard, intriguing and tranquil. Pretty Maids. Pandemonium Continued listening serves this one well. The band sounds really tight and it has a refreshing blend of heavy stuff mixed with lots of melodic passages and cool choruses. Scorpions. Sting In The Tail It has some ups and downs but settle as a pretty good album, I simply love the sentimental chorus in The Best Is Yet To Come. Vanden Plas. The Seraphic Clockwork Lots of lengthy songs that take time to digest. As always it's well arranged and with splendid atmospheres but not among their best as I miss more distinctive moments.

Comments: 166 Ratings: 46 | | I just purchased Obsidian Conspiracy and thus far it is solid. Though I am going to have to give it more time. "Dead heart in a dead world" appears to be still my fav of the Nevermore releases.
You are right about Masterplan. It is better than the last release. Jorn adds that emotional edge that the intern vocalist seamed to be lacking on the 3rd release. Though something is missing. I find myself not hearing high energy hooks. I think that is what made the debut have so much impact.
Magica... :-)
