Playlist - December 2007/January 2008 - Steen
A rather hectic christmas month is nearing its zenith. I would like to wish all readers a merry christmas and a hard rocking new year. 2007 marked the 5 year anniversary of the RevelationZ website! I am looking forward to writing about great (and not so great) music for many years to come.

Trans-Siberian Orchestra - Christmas Eve and Other Stories, The Christmas Attic and The lost Christmas eve (Christmas Metal)
Nothing brings on the christmas spirit like this trilogy of albums. Special, warming and joyful music.

Ray Wilson - An Audience and Ray Wilson (Acoustic live)
One man and his guitar makes a deep impact on this fantastic live album.

Ayreon - 01011001 (Progressive Metal)
A new Ayreon album is always a special ocassion. This one is challenging and harder to get into than his last couple of albums. Whether it will rise to their level remains to be heard as the first five listens have only wetted my appetite. It will surely provide some interesting listening sessions over the coming christmas vacation.

Damian Wilson - Let's start a Commune (Wilsolo)
Another great solo album with several memorable songs.

Helloween - Gambling with the devil (Power Metal)
Still going strong. A full review might even show itself soon!

Gary Hughes - Veritas (Rock)
Good album - Read review

Machine Men - Circus of Fools (Power Metal)
After watching their convincing show at the ProgPower Scandinavia festival in November I quickly ordered a couple of Machine Men albums. This one shows great promise. Power Metal with a strong bite.

Fates Warning - Awaken the Guardian (Progressive Metal)
Unique. Read review

CD purchase of the month

Machine Men...I haven't listened to them in a while, I quite liked their debut.

If Bruce Dickinson isn't going to keep doing solo albums at least there's another band out there that sound exactly the same.
