Angra. Temple Of Shadows
Refreshing, epic and powerful. Waiting impatiently on the new one to arrive in my mailbox.

Bob Catley. When Empires Burn
Passionate vocals, divine melodies and a weighty rhythm section nicely balanced out by some fine keyboard arrangements. Favourite tracks are Gonna Live Forever, I'll Be Your Fool, Every Beat Of My Heart, Meaning Of Love, Someday Utopia and My America. Excellent album.

Labyrinth. Freeman
Experimenting Power Metal with a bunch of cool melodies and odd structuring. Not as brilliant as their last one but less is still a great piece of work. Power Metal with a twist.

Meat Loaf. Bat Out Of Hell III - The Monster Is Loose
A worthy follow up and another essential chapter in a fascinating trilogy. A bunch of these songs are so addictive and well written that I simply can't let them go. A brilliant balance, production, performance and overall positive and emotional feeling runs through it.
It's All Coming Back To Me Now, Alive, What About Love and Seize The Night are already Rock classics in my book. Jim Steinman and Desmond Child have created a healthy amount of magic here.

Opeth. Damnation
An acoustic journey where the actual melodies and rhythm structuring are the focus of attention, nothing here to cover anything.not that it's needed. These musicians know their stuff and have a brilliant ability to make a lot form a rather simple set up.

Slamer. Nowhere Land
Atmospheric, harmonious and caressing, at times a bit monotone but clearly an enjoyable effort.

Steel Prophet. Book Of The Dead
Pleasant, precise and slightly progressive. Not their best work but interesting and filled with great vocals.

Stone Lake. Reincarnation
Heavy Rock with thick key layers and rough guitar riffs. Some good songs with a range of melodic choruses and catchy passages.

Tomorrow's Eve. The Mirror Of Creation 2 - Genesis II
A bunch of innovative ideas challenge you to keep up as the album bends through a wide range of atmospheres and styles, interesting stuff indeed.

Within Temptation. Mother Earth
It just has this otherworldly feeling to it, warm, hypnotic and still with an tense edge.

Angra - Temple of Shadows: Great opening track and there are other highlights but the album is not consistent...

Bat Out of Hell III: Agree with you on this one!

Damnation: Just an excellent all acoustic progressive album.

Slamer's Nowhere Land: Simply one of the best Melodic/Progressive AOR album of the year! :)
