Sunstorm - Sunstorm
"Another You" gets me everytime. What a great song, and definitely worth digging the CD out for again and again...

Blackmores Night - Shadows of the Moon
T'was their first cd and perhaps the best. "Wish You Were Here" is a simple, sweet song that is turned into magic by the sugary voice of Candice and Ritchie's heart squeezing guitar flourishes. The pouty "No Second Chances" has a folksy twist and sing-a-long capabilities. Good stuff.

Evanescence - The Open Door
Yeah I guess you could whisper "sell out" - but I still like this band. Its wicked cool to see something like "Call Me When You're Sober" get alot of airplay on tv and radio but at the same time - its sad to see soccer moms and trendy grandmothers singing along to it. I don't know why but I find it to be disturbing. "Your Star" is haunting though... keep it off the radio so I can treasure it without apologizing to myself later.

Def Leppard - Pyromania
An album that never goes out of style... Def Lep's 83 effort is a rock n roll classic and a milestone for British rock in general. The punch and sizzle of these tracks make the disc an electric powerhouse while fusing a catchy twist right in the middle.

Kamelot - Karma
I snapped this up the day it came out but didn't give it much more than a glance-over since. What a mistake that was... having dug it out I have rediscovered such gems as the haunting "The Spell". Damn Kamelot is an awesome band...

Mob Rules - Ethnolution A.D.
Power metal without "Dungeons and dragons" lyrics? Yup, this disc delves into topics from our turbulent modern times such as suicide bombers and the Klu Klux Klan. Do I love it? Hate it ? Imbibe in indifference? Read the upcoming review for the exciting conclusion to the mystery!

A.C.T. - Silence
A subtly brilliant album that covers a wide range of prog rock but never comprises in melody. Soaring vocals, poppy moments and passports into the keyboard ivory tickling world of Asia all blend for a smooth proggy experience that is intriguing, invigorating and worth the time invested to become well acquainted.

Wolfmother - Wolfmother
Someone gave me this cd claiming that I would "love it". Meh. Why is this band getting so much attention? They sound like garagey 70s rock but it isnt even GOOD 70s hard rock. It's pablum pap that is created for and being force fed to the mainstream crowds. Boring and bland, the attraction is lost on me somehow.
