Anathema - We're Here Because We're Here
This is the latest release from Anathema and it's quite disappointing. The mood is too content and it really has some cheesy lyrics for example: "because everything is energy and energy is you and me" seriously? Come on. The only song that I'm fond of is "Presence". Maybe it just needs more time, but what I know is that it isn't Anathema as I want it to be: depressing and beautiful.

Boil - A New Decay
Lacks diversity and is too polished for my taste. The promo material says that Boil is like a good book that gives the reader a more exciting, deep and memorable experience than an indifferent Hollywood movie, that's forgotten after 20 minutes. Well, this description is completely wrong, this album is anything but a good book, In fact, it's just like an indifferent Hollywood movie.

Dream Theater - Six Degrees of Inner turbulence.
Bombastic and one hell of a ride. It never ever gets boring! You can always focus on a certain instrument and discover new hidden details.

Dream Theater - Waldrock (live at the Waldrock Festival 27 June 1998)
A setlist to die for : A change of seasons (excerpt), The Mirror (excerpt) Just Let Me Breath, Take The Time, Hollow Years, Caught In A Web, Lie, Peruvian Skies , Pull Me Under, Metropolis Part 1 AND Learning to Live. Songs from 4 incredible albums. It's always cool listening to bootlegs because when you know every single DT song in and out, then it's always exiting to hear some awesome improvisations. For example the different beginning of Hollow Years, with some great improvisation from John Petrucci. They've also mixed a small part of "Dogs" (Pink Floyd) into Peruvian Skies and they finish the song off with the riff from "Enter Sandman" (Metallica). It just never gets boring being a DT fan!

Fates Warning - Night On Bröcken
The first album from FW and it's one of my favorites, all though they have developed their style into the more progressive spectrum with more complex songs. The album contains hard rocking straightforward songs with raw riffs and great choruses. Very NWOBHM.

Pantera - Vulgar Display Of Power
One word that describes this album perfectly is: Badass!
Contains lots of anger, frustration, energy, heavy riffs and guitar solos that say: "In your face!".
A very wide-ranging Pantera album, my favorite of theirs.

Pink Floyd - Dark Side Of The Pig live 77
Bootleg from the Animals Tour in 1977. The quality of the sound can be discussed, but considering the time it's pretty good. However, the last tracks Money and Us and Them are in relatively better quality.  All in all very charming, interesting and a pure pleasure for every hardcore Pink Floyd fan.

Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here
This is my favorite Pink Floyd album. Passionate and innovative playing combined with some deep and criticizing lyrics. Shine On You Crazy Diamond Part One, is one of my favorite songs of all time. Just listen at 2:09, 5:10 and at 7:35. some magical Gilmour moments!

Sieges Even - The Art Of Navigating by The Stars
Eventually, you will find something that blows you completely away, just like this album. It's a wonder in every way, musically, lyrically and emotionally. Arno Menses' voice is one of the most beautiful voices I've ever heard. When he enters, I suddenly feel very safe in a bobble and it is as if the musical impression intensifies. I'm deeply amazed by every single song on this album and the production is sublime. Buy, listen and witness the album opening up and become addicted to this heaven sent progressive masterpiece. One of the best progressive albums I've heard; and I say that without hesitating.

Pain Of Salvation - Road Salt One
I'm so excited about this release! This album is a true treasure. I simply adore the song Sisters. I've been crazy about it from the moment I heard the melancholic piano line in the beginning. I'm just dragged into the story, there's contrast all over it.
Personal favorites: No Way, Sisters, Of Dust, Sleeping Under the Stars, Curiosity, Where It Hurts and Road Salt. One of the magical moments is when Daniel sings "To take me home" in Road Salt, a voice that sends a cool breeze down my spine. The rest of the songs are still growing.

Stratovarius - Visions
Classic Stratovarius album and my favorite of theirs. It's power metal just as I like it: Ass-kicking, highly melodic and overpowering choruses.

Sonata Arctica - Ecliptica
I remember when I got into Power Metal and I discovered this treasure, I was totally blown away. When I put it on today, and it fills the room, it still manages to blow me away. It's packed with spectacular moments of madness and beautifulness. Definitely my favorite Sonata Arctica album.

Virgin Steele - The House of Atreus Act 1
This epic treasure has everything. It's powerful, epic, sorrowful and cheerful. Every single member does a splendid job. David Defeis ...  I just can't stop admiring this man, his voice has the power to break through your heart. Lots of tracks, however each one has a unique character and the more time I spend with them, the more I fall in love with them.

Fates Warning's "Spector Within" very much like "Night On Brocken". "Awaken the Guardian" is superb seeing strong progressive elements which is the last release John Arch would contribute. I still find "No Exit" to be my favorite with the debut of Ray Alder as Arch's replacement. Very Progressive yet arguably their heaviest. the 21 minute epic "The Ivory Gate of Dreams" is brilliant.
