Playlist - February/March 2006 - Tommy
I take great joy in the inspiration and insight my fellow RevelationZ writers offer with their reviews, so recently I went ahead and ordered a stack of albums that sounded very interesting in writing. Even though we of course have quite different tastes, we also find pleasure in a lot of common qualities and I'm very pleased with my purchases, some of which are featured on this list.

At the same time I'm still struggling with the Highlights Of 2005 article, but have patience, it's getting there.and it's lengthier than ever too ha ha.
On another point I'm getting very excited about the new Vanden Plas album, I love their unique style and when taking into consideration the few sound clips I heard, my hopes are high indeed. And when talking about high hopes, the news that King Diamond will play my hometown in Denmark in April is just such a sweet little surprise.

Annihilator. Schizo Deluxe
A tight packed trash package offering intelligent critical commentary on modern society, it's a cool, not equally exciting but immensely intense product.

Black Sabbath. Cross Purposes
Sabbath had the magnificent ability to explore diverse strengths through different line- ups and creative moods; this is a groovy and profound album adding another solid effort to the huge collection.

Blind Guardian. Nightfall In Middle-Earth
A blistering and by all means advanced Power Metal opus.

Edge Of Forever. Let The Demon Rock 'N' Roll
Lush keys, profound vocals and memorable melodies are key aspects on this dynamic Hard Rock album. It comes so naturally to sing along to many of these choruses.

Grave Digger. Heart Of Darkness
A weighty monster, combining dark atmospheres and raw power in fascinating ways.

Hardline. II
Awesome melodic Hard Rock with plenty of bite and amazing vocal lines.

Hartmann. Out In The Cold
Beautiful, emotional, carefully arranged and catchy are all words that come to mind. This is one of those albums that after a few positive first spins settled as a strong album for a while. a handful of spins later it suddenly became directly amazing. There is just so much quality music in there and every track has something really important to add.

Place Vendome. Place Vendome
Michael Kiske's voice is as delicate as ever and fits perfect for this softer Heavy Rock fling, or whatever you want to call it. I Will Be Waiting and Place Vendome are amazingly melodic super cuts, while a few another songs remains too anonymous.

Pretty Maids. Anything Worth Doing Is Worth Overdoing
Love that title. From the earth shattering Snakes In Eden, over the emotional With These Eyes to the amazing and bombastic Love Shine, this is a great Heavy Rock release.

Shakra. Fall
Their raw and thick sound is a cool trademark. Some of these cuts could have benefited from a bit more time in the creation lab though, but all in all this is a good album.

Star One. Space Metal
Still a fresh and soaring symphonic journey into space.

Steel Prophet. Messiah
This Power Metal wonder keeps amazing, untamed and melodic rushes packed into a splendid production.

TNT. My Religion
Feeling in the Hard Rock mood lately, I ordered this baby home and I admit it's a strong release packed with expressive attitude.

Vanden Plas. Beyond Daylight
Warming up to the new album with their yet best and overly hypnotic release. A Progressive Metal gem of the most fascinating kind.
