Playlist - April 2010 - Sandra
Spring is finally here! And it means that I can start dusting of my "spring/summer albums", which is something that I've been waiting for during this ice-cold "never ending" winter. Most of the albums listed below, are rock classics and perfect for this time of the year.
As something new, I've added a video that summarizes my playlist - here you can listen to some of my favorite moments of every album that's on my playlist - Please let me know what you think of this new idea. Feel free to comment and let me know your "spring albums"!

Green Day - Dookie
I've had this one since I was 12 and it's still my favorite Green Day album. I still feel like dancing when I put it on, it just never gets boring. Young, fresh, funny and packed with energy!

Led Zeppelin - IV
One of the most selling albums in history, with the classic songs: Black Dog, Stairway to heaven, Rock and Roll. Well all songs on the album are rock classics!  Cool, laidback and awesome rocking riffs and lyrics.

Lenny Kravitz - Greatest Hits
Kravitz can do everything. From the rocking Are You Gonna Go My Way and the funny Mr. Cab Driver to the lovely lovesongs like: Again and Can't Get You Off My Mind. Oh yeah, and I can't resist his voice... especially on Heaven Help, it's soo seductive.

Magnum - On A Storytellers Night
"It goes deep my love only for you just like an arrow!" What can I say? An album that's full of charming tunes and you will soon find yourself dancing all over the room and singing along as loud as you can, I will guarantee that!

Metallica - Francis Pour Une Nuit Live Aux Arénes De Nimes 2009 (DVD)
Nothing special, I could have lived without watching it. The location is beautiful, and the songs from Death Magnetic are well executed, and are those songs that I enjoy the most. When they play the old stuff like Blackened, Creeping Death, Fade to Black, Master of Puppets etc. it just feels wrong. They improve during the show, but not enough to impress me and keep me entertained.  In short: don't spend your money on it.

Pink Floyd - Animals
The song Dogs, is a true masterpiece. The acoustic guitar in the beginning is one of the coolest things ever, and so is the opening line: " You got to be crazy, gotta have a real need" - it's an irresistible creation. The song Pigs, has one awesome opening guitar riff and a cool vivid vibe. One of my favorite Pink Floyd albums.

Pink Floyd - Meddle
San Tropez Is the ultimate spring song, the great relaxed feeling you get from this song is amazing. Another song that I must mention is Echoes, It's simply to die for. Listen to that keyboard, it's magical right? It's so mesmerizing and when David Gilmour (guitarist) enters. He plays so gently and with a perfect timing. I don't know how many times I've been looking at the stars while listening to this song, it's just one of the wonders of the world. 23 minutes and 31 seconds of total progressive bliss. The wonderfully weird midsection always reminds me of 2001: A Space Odyssey, by Stanley Kubrick. It's one of the best movies EVER. Once, I saw the entire movie while listening to Echoes over and over... that was the best night in my life. You will see the movie and the song from another view. Looking at those incredible scenes and listening to Echoes, feels as if you're witnessing the perfect marriage. Okay, maybe this is weird, I don't know, because I haven't told anyone about it - guess it's weird then. But if you love the movie or the song, then I highly recommend trying it out.
I could go on praising this song forever, but you simply have to listen by yourself. It takes some time to get into the song, however, the feeling you get from the first tones from the keyboard and the first smooth and warm tones from the guitar is simply priceless.

Ramones - The Best Of The Ramones
You have to sing "Hey oh lets go" or you will not enter the spring and summer in the right manner! I'm always having a blast jumping in my bed and training some air guitar moves to Don't Bust My Chops and Ignorance Is Bliss. Rebelish songs with lots of drive - and that's exactly what you need for summer!

Scorpions - Love At First String
A classic album, containing the party starter Rock You Like A Hurricane and one of my all time favorite Scorpions songs: Still Loving You. A heartbreaking song and that guitar solo at the end is mind-blowing.

Treat - Coup The Grace
Bombastic rock album with splendid tunes! Right now it's the cleaning album of the year, and possibly the rock album of the year. Spin it once, and you'll be smiling for the rest of the day.

Uriah Heep - Demons And Wizards
A Spring/summer must have! It's perfect for this time. Artistic progressive rock from 1972, that's packed with sunshine, adventure and mesmerizing keyboard. I highly highly recommend this album.
