Dream Theater. Official Bootleg: Master Of Puppets This one really excites me, not just musically but also thinking about this: you go to a DT concert and they play a normal setlist, and when they're done they start playing Metallica songs... More precisely : the whole damn Master Of Puppets !!! You can just hear when the crowd realizes the fact that Dream Theater are going to play the whole thing. Technically it's so tight and musically they deliver 100 %, however, it's quite weird hearing James Labrie singing Metallica songs - but he does a good job. A real treat for every fan of DT.
Eternity X : The Edge. Sometimes I think I've discovered crème the la crème like Dream Theater "Awake" and "Images and Words". Oh, and I remember when I discovered Pink Floyd, it was my life. As the years passes I always wonder if this is it? Will I ever get that feeling about an album again?. I listen to lots of music and I sometimes get impressed, but nothing like DT and Pink Floyd. well there's my latest love: Savatage, that I've completely fallen for, but that's really it. Therefore I'm so happy to say that I'm head over hills in love with: Eternity X The Edge! I'm just so thrilled about this album...and the band isn't playing anymore ... of course. Favorites: Fly Away, A Day In Verse, Baptized by Fire, The confession, The edge part II (The Looking Glass) and at last: the whole album! I've only been listening to the album for about 2 weeks - but I've been listening to it no stop; In the morning, at the gym, at home, when I'm eating , well I've been practically living with it. One of the most exciting albums I've ever head, that's for sure!
Pink Floyd: The Division Bell Relaxing, passionate, and a totally underrated Pink Floyd album in my opinion. Listen to "Marooned"; an instrumental you cannot help falling for - the emotional playing comes all the way in , so extremely relaxing and yet so melancholic.
Pink Floyd: Dark Side Of The Moon One of the greatest and most influential albums in the history of rock!
Pink Floyd: The Wall Quite commercial, but still one of my favorite Pink Floyd albums. One of my favorite songs is "Young Lust". "Uhhh I need a dirty woman, uuhhh I need a dirty girl" - one of those lines that you never forget.
Savatage - Dead Winter Dead One of my all time favorite Savatage albums and one that really touches my heart. The fact that every song is so damn excellent just makes it even more genius. The different tempos and the "play" between the instruments in "Mozart and Madness" is so fascinating ... "Not What You See" is another favorite of mine. The lyrics are just so appealing and moving. The repeating "I don't understand" fits perfectly in and afterwards a heavenly guitar solo. Goosebumps! Listen to the guitar at 3:36 - it's amazing. This album is perfect for this time of the year.
Savatage - Edge Of Thorns I just get completely lost in this extremely varied album every time I give it a spin, it's full of magical guitar, magical vocals, magical piano- it's the magical sound of Savatage that makes it so unique. "He Carves His Stones", is so damn groovy, and so exiting, about 2:52 you just know that you've reached the point of no return and at 3.23 : hell breaks loose! All time favorite song? Well it's defiantly on that list!
Sieges Even: Navigating by the stars I'm still obsessed with this album. Intelligent music and yet touching.
Ray Wilson: Change. An album that has a great vibe and it will catch you from the beginning. Very down to earth and lyrics that everybody can relate to. Favorites: "Believe ", "Change" "Goodbye Baby Blue and "Along The way".
