Icehouse - Man Of Colours An oldie but a goldie. Opening tracks 'Crazy' and 'Electric Blue' are Iva Davies at his songwriting peak. The version of 'MOC' I'm playing is the 2002 remaster on Warner Music, Australia, with 4 bonus tracks including 'Jimmy Dean' and the wonderful 'Touch The Fire'. Sinner - Judgement Day, The Nature Of Evil, There Will Be Execution Criminally overlooked albums. Not world beaters, but really good examples of how you can successfully marry old school metal to hard melodic rock. Mat Sinner is a limited but emphatic vocalist, making up in style what he lacks in distinctiveness. Bert Heerink - Better Yet Cool, relaxed and always in control, that's today's Bert (Vandenberg) Heerink. And that's despite a one size fits all production job from Michael Voss. For me Heerink will always be the man who sang one of the greatest hard rock / metal tracks of all time, Vandenberg's 'Burning Heart'. Nine-T-Nine - Keeping The Flame Alive The title of this debut echoes the catchphrase (Keeping The Dream Alive) of the now defunct Now&Then Music label, arguably one of the pioneer indie labels responsible for the rebirth of melodic rock. This album stays true to that dream. Full of pure, unadulterated AOR/melodic rock, it occasionally sounds dated, but in truth, that's exactly what many fans want to hear. Charlie - Kitchens Of Distinction The tongue in cheek album title is something of a dead giveaway to Terry Thomas's eloquent critique of contemporary society. Often barbed, frequently funny and wrapped up in some great tunes. Chris Thompson - Backtrack, 1980 - 1994 The voice of Manfred Mann's latter years and the original voice of 'You're The Voice', if you follow me. An albumful of Thompson's best known songs, some re-recorded (like 'Blinded By The Light') and featuring 19 tracks in all. Marvellous stuff. Graham Bonnet - Underground Reissue of 1997 release. Peep Show - Out For Blood Glasgow's own Glam rock band! The Queen Killing Kings Another band who've jettisoned the guitars and wheeled in the Steinways. 2nd Moon - Reveal German rock band, formerly U2 tributers, now doing their own stuff and pretty damn good it is too.
Alex Falcone - Aphasia Doogie White and James Christian are guest vocalists, but Falcone is far from overshadowed.
