In general 2006 was a rather slow year regarding high quality releases. Most of the album highlights were from established names and the year will be remembered for live albums in particular. Well known bands like Whitesnake, Mötely Crüe, Foreigner, L.A. Guns, Stephen Pearcy and Danger Danger released live albums.
It was no surprise that the only newcomers that blew me away were bands originated in Sweden. Earlier I wrote an
article that praised and put spotlight on the growing Swedish Glam and Sleaze scene. It looks like Sweden keeps fostering great bands and it's very likely that Swedish bands will dominate my 2007 list.
