Redemption - Snowfall on Judgment Day
Redemption continue their impressive string of brilliant albums and amazingly find ways to improve. On the first listen I was floored by the richness of the music and the deep emotion that flows from it. This being progressive metal the most fascinating thing is the amount of songs that stand out right away. 'Walls', 'Keep Breathing', 'Black and White World', 'What will you say?' and 'Love Kills Us All/Life in one day' are instant classics. Spellbinding songs. Through the album complex layers of melody and emotion unite in a genius way. This music is too good to miss and I'd recommend it to anyone. Buy it, enjoy it and go nuts over it, like me. Wow!

Transatlantic - The Whirlwind
The band is back with a 77 minute song of epic proportions. Divided into 12 parts the song is quite a mouthful but one that can be happily devoured numerous times without any satiety creeping in. Great stuff.

Savage Circus - Of Doom and Death
If you yearn for the Blind Guardian of 'Traveller in Time' era then look no further. Savage Circus will satisfy. Solid.

Tori Amos - Forgotten earthquakes - B-sides and Rarities
Got completely addicted to Sugar (The song).  Here's a video link to a live and somewhat censored version.

Xystus - Equilibrio - A Rock Opera
Fascinating Metal opera, incorporating several male and female singers. The result is a convincing glimpse at the stage production. Only the voice of Death detracts from the overall impression.

Voyager - I am the ReVolution
Unique progressive metal worth checking out. The keyboard and voice gives the music a strong atmosphere filled with melancholy. With each listen the album grows and it has turned into one of the best new discoveries this year.

Devin Townsend Project - Ki
Highly varied and interesting album. Relaxed and quite weird.

W.E.T. - Wet
Superb melodic rock. Infectious melodies and a splendid voice make this one special.

Shadow Gallery - Digital Ghosts
It's tough to listen to Shadow Gallery without Mike Baker's charismatic voice. Mike is sorely missed. Brian Ashland does an impressive job though and I am happy that the band continue their legacy with honor. The music is total Shadow Gallery but it will take a while to get used to this new scenario. However, after five listens the album shows many signs of greatness.
