Playlist - January/February 2007 - Alanna
Tony O'Hora - Escape Into the Sun
A great disc that seems overlooked somehow. It came out about a year ago and didn't get much attention beyond the initial rush. Seems a shame, because the disc is packed with excellent rocking songs. For those that liked Starbreaker and Allen/Lande, this is the perfect compliment to those two discs with the same mastermind behind them. (Magnus Karlsson).
Lake of Tears - Forever Autumn
Autumn has come and gone but with this album you can relive it anytime you like. The deep, depressing atmosphere captures the season's spirit of dying leaves, faded clouds and the crisp cold that comes with autumn's chilly hold over the world.
TNT - Transistor
"Mousetrap" remains one of the most addictive songs I've ever heard. It replays in the mind for years like an eternal broken record. This was a different album for TNT but turned out to be a great one. A shame that Harnell is no longer with them, his presence will be missed.
Street Talk - Transition
"V" was great, but somehow this still gets caught in the head. It has those cute quirky songs that they seemed to abandon lately. "Energizer Bunny" is especially of note.
Axel Rudi Pell - The Masquerade Ball
This was the last great work by ARP so far, atleast in my opinion. Everything that followed it has copied the same style but not reached the same level of quality. Just check out "Night and Rain" to further show proof to this claim.
Pink Cream 69 - Thunderdome
A good album that has fallen out of consciousness. Rockin and more cohesive than some of their past work, its a real solid piece that is worth a relook.
Jorn - The Gathering
Some of Jorn's best are gathered here for a great collection of tunes. Sure, plenty are missing, but that doesn't detract from the quality of what's available on this disc.
Jorn - Unlocking the Past
And as always, Lande nails covertunes with all the passion and pain of the originals. Another good one from Lande.
