Article - Michael's Top 10 - 2010

Written by Michael

TOP 10 albums 2010:

01 - Enuff Z'Nuff - Dissonance
Finally Grind that Axe/Rock Candy Records gave this magnificent record a proper European release.  Review by Brian

02 - Chris Laney - Only Come out at Night
Another bulls-eye from Chris Laney. Review by Alanna

03 - Ozzy Osbourne - Scream
I feared the worst when I heard that Zakk Wylde's replacement was from a Greek power metal band. However, Gus G sounds much like Zakk Wylde on "Scream". Ozzy hasn't gone soft with age since "Scream" is the most metallic release from him

04 - Casablanca - Kings, Queens and Guillotines
Limited as a 6 track EP only to be sold at shows, but Ryan Roxie's latest band deserves more. Power pop mixed with 70's rock and lots of hooks. Review

05 - Slash - Slash
No introduction needed to former Guns N' Roses and Velvet Revolver guitarist. His first solo album included different singers on each track making it a diverse but yet solid record.

06 - Black Country Communion - Black Country Communion
SUPER GROUP. Great 70's Hard Rock and fantastic players. Glenn Hughes, Jason Bonham, Derek Sherinian and Joe Bonamassa. Review by Brian

07 - Ratt - Infestation
Comeback of the year. "Infestation" was a return to Ratt's heyday as a strong 2 guitar band. Carlos Cavazo contributed to the song writing and he complemented Warren Demartini so well that Ratt should have taken back territory in 2010 but instead it looks like they are breaking up once again.

08 - CrashDiet - Generation Wild
3 albums and 3 different singers. Not as good as the debut, but a band "Back on trakk". Review

09 - Pretty Maids - Pandemodium
The best and most inspired Pretty Maids album since "Anything Worth Doing". Review by Steen

10 - Dirty Passion - Different Tomorrow
Old school 80's Hard Rock with Joey Tempest like vocals. The album offers some great songs. Overall a promising debut album. Review

Good to see KISS topping both of our top gigs lists, they completely exceeded all my expectations. And I had Great Expectations as well :)
