Tuesday, June 15, 2010 - Back From Sweden Rock | The RevelationZ crew have returned from yet another superb Sweden Rock festival. Yet again the festival triumphed over the adverse weather conditions (being Masters of The Wind this didn't affect us too much) and was an excellent way to spend 4 days.
Keep a look out for multiple festival reports coming your way over the up coming weeks. · Discuss this news further (0) |
Sunday, March 2, 2008 - Doogie White Working On New Project | Singer Doogie White and guitarist Yngwie Malmsteen parted ways amicably earlier this week after six years working together due to Malmsteen "wanting to move musically in a new direction." White has since issued the following update:
"As Ronnie is off with Tony Iommi, touring and working on a new HEAVEN AND HELL album, I thought it was time to do some writing with my good friend Mr. Craig Goldy. We have written five songs together. I have also been working with Paul Logue from EDEN'S CURSE. In total, we have 16 killer tunes to work on. I have assembled the great, good and unwashed for this.
We started in the autumn last year, kicking ideas around. Between us we have come up with some dynamic and aggressive rawk songs covering a colourful spectrum of hard rock. The drums were recorded in Florida late last year and we are now laying down the guitars, bass and keyboards.
So far I have secured the awesome talents of Craig Goldy and Pontus Norgren (TALISMAN, GREAT KING RAT), Rudy Sarzo (QUIET RIOT, DIO, OZZY OSBOURNE), Neil Murray (BLACK SABBATH, WHITESNAKE) and Greg Smith, Patrik Johansson (Yngwie Malmsteen) and the very splendid Derek Sherinian (DREAM THEATER, Yngwie Malmsteen). In addition to these guys, RATA BLANCA's guitarist and mainman Walter Giardino has agreed to play on a couple of songs.
It's early days but the album is coming together very nicely. It's good to be stepping out and not be in the constricts of a band situation where the demands of others sometime outway the sensibility and understanding of the songs. I believe the work we have done so far is interesting, different and valid. Fuck me!! I sound like a car salesman, but it's true. This will be an album that covers many aspects of music that I have enjoyed over the years and then some.
I have also contacted my old friend Ritchie Blackmore's management to asked if he would be interested in playing on a song or two. Hell, we could even work on some of the ideas we had for the aborted follow-up to Stranger In Us All. While I don't think he will, I thought it only polite to ask." · Discuss this news further (0) |

Sunday, July 9, 2006 - Metal Poet Unleashes New Album "Fatalities of Faith" | Michael Terrax, founder of www.metalpoet.com, has released the sixth Metal Poet album, titled "Fatalities of Faith". Dealing with the themes of political and religious control, the album's lyrics are uncompromising in its dissection of the power and corruption behind many "leaders" in today's world.
"Hypocrisy, lies and manipulation are typical characteristics I see in so many areas of the religious and political landscape today", said Michael Terrax from his Sydney base. "It seemed like a relevant climate to incorporate these issues into my writing, and I feel quite strongly about the role that faith and politics play in our everyday lives."
Album cover artist extraordinaire Eddie Mize has returned with a punishing visual depiction for this album, using his own hands as the basis for the stunning album image. Eddie Mize has recently produced artwork for Anthrax guitarist Dan Spitz in addition to his work with Anger As Art.
"Eddie's visuals say volumes about the themes within the album, and that's why I don't even stamp Eddie's covers with the Metal Poet logo", said Michael Terrax. "Eddie took this project very seriously and, as with the "Echoes of an Empty Heart" artwork, has produced an absolute stunner of an image".

"I have decided to record my first solo album, to be released in March 2007. Since I have "tons" of ideas and unused material dating back to the days of Mercyful Fate in the early 80s, and also it will be my 30 year anniversary as a guitar player :-) Further detail to follow on this.
Force Of Evil is having a break until this summer; Hal Patino is doing a King Diamond European tour and Martin Steene is pushing IronFire's latest release: Revenge...
In the meantime I'm working with U.S. rock-girl Rachelle Ramm, getting songs created for a future album...

Wednesday, March 8, 2006 - Metal Poet Releases "Echoes of an Empty Heart" with Eddie Mize Masterpiece | "Thanks for the continued support of the Metal Poet site. As always, your emails and feedback are encouraging, and I want to thank those that have spent the time corresponding with me.
"Today I posted my fifth collection of metal poetry, titled "Echoes of an Empty Heart". This is my most personal work yet, like my soul is being exposed in this album.
"Because of its strong personal nature, I approached Eddie Mize, who agreed to create artwork based on my vision. Eddie has created a unique image that is truly expressive and intense. More of his dramatic and talented work can be found on www.artofeddiemize.com. This is the first image I have placed on metalpoet.com of myself; I felt the album's contents deserved to have such an intimate connection.
"As you read through these pieces, you may recall harbouring these thoughts and feelings yourself. Just as Metal is the perfect vehicle for purging and expressing that which cannot be conveyed any other way, this collection is my attempt to articulate what lies deep within.
"Jenifer, you will never be forgotten."

Wednesday, February 15, 2006 - Artist Eddie Mize reveals all to Metal Poet | Eddie Mize, a prolific graphic artist and guest contributor to the Metal Poet website, has spoken to Michael Terrax about his influences and the work he has created for Steve Gaines' Anger As Art.
Eddie Mize told Metal Poet that he and Steve Gaines "share a real kinship", which elevates the artwork he creates for them. "When you believe in and appreciate a band this much it is easy to create art for them and to visually express the spirit and themes they are about.", Eddie said.
In a frank and sometimes revealing discussion, Eddie revealed the battles he has with bipolar disorder, and how his personal life experience has resulted in the unique style he is now known for. For Eddie, his art has been "an attempt to express the feeling of hell that the depression cycles can bring or to at least communicate it in ways that words cannot."
Eddie Mize has contributed designs for the Metal Poet home page, an image for the "A Life So Cold" album, and is currently working on a new piece specifically for Metal Poet's next album, due out in March. More of Eddie's work can be seen on www.cirquesolutions.com/art.

Wednesday, February 1, 2006 - Metal Poet Reveals "A Life So Cold" | Michael Terrax has released the fourth album of metal-inspired poetry on Metal Poet, titled "A Life So Cold". Like earlier albums, this new collection showcases an individual lyrical style borne of years immersed in heavy music.
Thematically, Michael Terrax says that this collection is "about looking inwards, reflecting on past failures and loss, and seeking to find purpose when there appears to be none". Once again, the lyrics follow a driving, metallic rhythm that propels the words forward.
The artwork for the album cover features a design by talented graphic artist Eddie Mize, who has contributed album covers for Anger As Art. Eddie Mize, whose website showcases his extraordinary artistic work, has been creating emotionally evocative art for over 20 years.
Previous contributors to Metal Poet have not gone unappreciated, as the Guest Artist area has been revamped to present images from artists that have helped develop Metal Poet's vision from its launch to the present.
Visit www.metalpoet.com and explore "A Life So Cold". Michael Terrax invites visitors to "find the stories beneath the words" in this album, which has once more been shaped by a lifelong passion for metal.

After nine years of providing top-notch metal news, views, reviews and interviews, the management of the popular website will enter the competitive and exciting world of music production, promotion, and management.

Monday, January 27, 2003 - Another update from the In Flames camp | The following was posted at http://www.inflames.com
hello all good people !
Right now we are at home enjoying ourselves and recharging our batteries for an upcoming extensive year. We have some touring ahead of us, but when, where and with who is something that will be revealed later on, just check our webpage for updates.
This is what we can tell you right now:
Performance at Rockbjörnen,Cirkus on Jan 27 !!!
At the end of may we will pack our bags full of ideas and travel to Denmark where we will start the process of what´s to be the next IN FLAMES record.
As we did for r2r we will turn off our phones, put our personal lives on hold and disconnect our entire contact with the outside world so that we can focus 100% on making a great new album. Once again it will be the five of us, our equipment and the cheapest possible beer we can find- tons of it!!!
We will of course do some festivals this summer, but once again- you´ll have to wait for the final info as of where we´ll play. The webpage will be updated soon with all details.
We´d like to thank all of you for the great reception we got last year and for listening to our latest album and giving us your input. We had the greatest time of touring with our friends on the road (bands, crew) and especially with all of you beautiful people that came to see us!!
Some of you had some thoughts on what we can change with our music, and that´s always appreciated, but as always we will choose no other path than the one chosen by the 5 members of IN FLAMES!
We hope to see you all out there on the road as we embark on yet another great mystery of touring- starting spring 2003.
all the best ! Anders, Jesper, Björn, Daniel & Peter · Discuss this news further (0) |

Wednesday, November 13, 2002 - Pain of Salvation leaves their management | Pain Of Salvation have left their management. This is the official announcement:
"This was one of the toughest decisions we have had to take this far, but earlier this year we decided to leave Roasting House Studios and Management. The previous situation was becoming impossible for us, practically but also financially. Too many miles, too much time, too many dollars and too many hands. We had some really great times down in Malmoe and who knows what will happen in the future, but for now we have changed our situation, as we believe, all for the better. This is one of the reasons why we have been absent the last months and basically only done the few shows that had been advertised; we have been involved in a lot of discussions and plans to and fro, and everything has of course been unofficial by need until everything was settled and done. Now a new era has begun. We will still have Inside Out as our European label and Inside Out America as our American label, and we are negotiating with the other territories at the moment." · Discuss this news further (0) |
