Friday, October 23, 2009 - Helloween - 25th Anniversary News | News from Helloween:
Hello to all Pumpkin Maniacs!
We deeply apologize the weeks of silence - which were weeks of insecurity for us - about the bands European label situation and the release date of the long awaited "UNARMED - Best-Of 25th Anniversary" album.
Thus we are proud to finally announce that we have teamed up with SONY MUSIC in coop. with SPV, to release our upcoming records!
We also want to use this opportunity to welcome the highly motivated team of SONY MUSIC in the world of Helloween and it´s fans!
Release dates of "UNARMED - Best-Of 25th Anniversary":
December 16th, 2009 - Japan & Southeast Asia (JVC/Victor) January 29th, 2010 - Europe (SONY/SPV) The release dates for the American continent will be announced soon
"UNARMED - Best-Of 25th Anniversary" is a big 'thank-you' to all our fans, old and new all over the world! Instead of putting together a regular greatest hits compilation featuring our most successful tracks to celebrate this anniversary, we completely rearranged and rerecorded the greatest songs and melodies of our career. Together with our tried and tested producer, Charlie Bauerfeind, we invited many great musicians to guest on this special record, with the doubtless highlight of having the 70-piece Prague Symphonic Orchestra performing "The Keeper´s Trilogy", a 17 minute medley consisting of the songs "Halloween", "Keeper of the Seven Keys" and "The King for A 1000 Years" - goose bumbs guaranteed!
Here´s a list of all songs we recorded: Dr. Stein * Future World * If I Could Fly * Where The Rain Grows * The Keeper´s Trilogy * Eagle Fly Free * Perfect Gentleman * Forever & One * I Want Out * Falling To Pieces * A Tale That wasn`t Right *
We aren't one of those bands who like to celebrate themselves, we just want to say 'thank you' in our own special way to all of you who have followed us through the past 25 years - to us, this album stands for an official celebration. It was a big challenge & great experience and we had a lot of fun recording our most important tracks in an entirely new 'outfit' and with new arrangements - we hope you like them!
Sincerely yours,
Andi, Michael, Markus, Sascha & Dani · Discuss this news further (0) |
Friday, August 24, 2007 - Helloween - "Gambling With The Devil" | Press release from Helloween:
Backed by the impetus of their successful Keeper Of The Seven Keys - The Legacy world tour which saw the band perform 93 shows in 34 countries around the globe - impressively documented on the double live DVD Live On 3 Continents -, Helloween are about to release their twelfth studio album, Gambling With The Devil. The new offering is scheduled to arrive at the stores on October 23, 2007 (USA), October 26, 2007 (Germany) and October 29, 2007 (rest of Europe) and will see the five musicians, Andi Deris (vocals), Michael Weikath (guitar), Sascha Gerstner (guitar), Markus Großkopf (bass) and Dani Löble (drums) unleash their full zest and experience. "Some of the numbers were written during the tour. The fans' positive reactions and the great responses to Keeper Of The Seven Keys - The Legacy really inspired us. We were rearing to go," Andi Deris describes the extremely positive atmosphere among the band members, adding: "It's been years since I had so much fun composing."
Under the direction of producer Charlie Bauerfeind, Helloween recorded a total of 16 songs at the Mi Sueno studios in Tenerife. Except for two or three tracks, these new compositions are all included on Gambling With The Devil, among them the impressive intro, featuring 'Crack The Riddle', with Biff Byford (Saxon) as a guest speaker. The focal point of this diverse album is a three-part epos consisting of the chapters, 'The Bells Of The Seven Hells', 'Falling To Pieces', and 'I.M.E.', which represent the ambiguous album title that thematically covers all the songs. "At the end of the day, life is a gamble with the devil", Deris explains. The first single release (download only) will be 'As Long As I Fall', supported by a video clip which will be shot in Munich at the end of August. The cover artwork was designed by Martin Häusler (Keeper Of The Seven Keys - The Legacy & Live On 3 Continents) again, and the booklet will include a scratch card puzzle, giving fans a chance to win a lucrative prize: a concert ticket for a show during the band's upcoming tour of South America, including flight and accommodation. The album will also be released as a limited edition digipak in a slipcase with a bonus disc incl. 2 unreleased songs, a video and lots of enhanced material).
The 'Hellish Rock' tour of Europe is scheduled to start in mid-November 2007, supported by top act Gamma Ray. Apart from a few festival appearances, this will be the first joint tour by Helloween and Gamma Ray. So here's hoping that Gamma Ray mastermind Kai Hansen, a former Helloween member himself, will join his ex-colleagues in a jam session featuring Helloween classics.

Wednesday, September 27, 2006 - New Helloween single | On November 13, 2006 (November 10 in Germany) Helloween are to release their latest single ´Light The Universe`, on which they present a spectacular collaboration with Candice Night, partner of Ritchie Blackmore (Deep Purple, Rainbow) and singer in his current formation Blackmore´s Night. A duet between Andi Deris and Candice Night, this deeply melodic Helloween anthem with its addictive refrain develops a flair of its own, carried by two of the most charismatic rock voices of our time.
In addition to the single version of ´Light The Universe`, this 4-track Single offers bonus material in the form of an excellent video of said single, directed by Alexander Diezinger (Negative, L'Ame Immortelle, Exilia) at Veldenstein Castle in southern Germany. Plus the track ´Revolution`, penned by bassist Markus Großkopf, recorded for Japan and previously unreleased in Europe, not to mention an appetizer for the coming live album - a stage version of ´If I Could Fly`, recorded in Sao Paulo in March 2006. The long shadow cast by the fantastic song, ´If I Could Fly`, hints at more great things to come soon: Helloween have announced the release in February 2007 of a double live DVD and a double live album available in two versions (standard and limited edition), with tracks recorded in Sofia, Tokyo and Sao Paulo, among others. The furious world tour will reach its finale in Russia and Ukraine in October 2006, with the band concentrating in the new year on preparations for the successor to Keeper Of The Seven Keys - The Legacy. · Discuss this news further (0) |

Tuesday, June 14, 2005 - Helloween news | The new Helloween studio album will be titled 'Keeper Of The Seven Keys - The Legacy' and will be released on the 31st of October 2005. The new songs inherit elements that connect to the lyrical concept of the first two highly successful 'Keeper OF The Seven Keys' albums. A renewed team spirit prevailing during pre-production encouraged the band members to hold intense rehearsal room sessions with a fresh inspiration, resulting in the band choosing "Keeper of The Seven Keys - The Legacy" as the title for their new album. The 'Keeper Of The Seven Keys - The Legacy" World Tour 2005/2006', is set for November 18th 2005 and will lead the band around the globe for roughly six months. · Discuss this news further (0) |
Saturday, May 28, 2005 - New Helloween single | The first single from the yet to be titled new Helloween studio album (release date October 31st) will be called "Mrs. God" (release date July 4th, Southeast Asia July 6th).
Apart from the title track, the single will contain various bonus features such as an exclusive non album track, one album track and the video for "Mrs. God".
Due to a strong positive development of said track during the recording sessions, the band spontaneously decided to favor "Mrs. God" over the previously selected track "Come Alive".
On November 18th, their world tour will kick off in the Czech Republic. Europe will be toured extensively until end of January; in February the band will be playing in Asia, followed by concerts in North and South America from March on.

Sunday, February 13, 2005 - Drummer leaves Helloween | HELLOWEEN and drummer Stefan Schwarzmann have parted ways amicably. The former RUNNING WILD- & U.D.O.-drummer, who played the drums during the pumpkin heads' RABBIT DON`T COME EASY-world tour, will not be playing for the Hamburg based band any longer. During the tour it became apparent to Stefan and to the rest of the members of Helloween that, although things were going extremely well on the human side of things, Stefan and the band did not entirely share the same views musically. Stefan decided to stay to help out the band during their pre-production until a replacement was found.
Dani Löble, highly acclaimed ex-drummer of RAWHEAD REXX turned out to be the perfect man for HELLOWEEN. Dani, an exceptional talent known to many musical insiders, has already finished most of the drum recordings for Helloween´s follow-up album to RABBIT DON`T COME EASY. Helloween-fans can anticipate awe-inspiring loads of double bass madness and the trademark Helloween style of songs and arrangements on their upcoming album. · Discuss this news further (0) |
Sunday, October 26, 2003 - Helloween cancel three live shows | Sadly Helloween have cancelled three shows on their European tour, including the show in Copenhagen. Here is the official statement from the band:
Unfortunately Andi Deris was taken ill on Friday in Berlin. Although he was able to do the show in Berlin he has been diagnosed with a chest and throat infection and is having to take a complete rest. He is taking prescribed medicine and it is hoped he will be fit again in a few days, although we wont know for another 48 hours or so.
Meantime, Helloween has reluctantly been forced to cancel the shows in Krakow (25th), Oslo (27th) and Copenhagen (28th). As it is the weekend it has not been easy to talk to all parties concerned but the band is determined to try and reschedule these dates as soon as time will allow and we will be discussing the possibility of this with local promoters on Monday. We are sorry for the inconvenience this will have caused them.
We want to especially apologise to all our fans and ask them to be patient with us as we try and sort things out. We will be back! · Discuss this news further (0) |
