Foreigner - Live in 05
Any Europeans ever been to the states have with guarantee heard Foreigner's music in bars and on radio. Foreigner is an American institution, but they have enjoyed success all over the world.

Foreigner is one of the best selling acts in the US with seven multi-platinum albums and records sales of more than 70 million records worldwide. Foreigner's radio friendly melodic Hard Rock has spawned lots of hit singles and charting albums.

Foreigner has regrouped in a new line-up and to show the world what Foreigner now is capable of they have recorded a show in Las Vegas November 2005

Chief songwriter and guitarist Mick Jones is the only member from back in the day and he has gotten together a competent band that plays the songs with respect to the originals and definitely given them a fresh sparkling sound.

At first this record didn't make any impact on me even though I have most of Foreigner's albums, but that has changed. I have been playing this CD for 3 weeks straight and the performance is sparkling with a great sound to match. This new band is really enthusiastic and very committed to re-establishing Foreigner. For sure Foreigner's material is strong and deserves the best instrumentation possible, which Jason Bonham, Jeff Pilson, Jeff Jacobs, Tom Gimbel and Kelly Hansen is capable of. Foreigner really sounds like a band in this recording.

The setlist is a look into Foreigner's greatest hits with Starrider as the only surprise. All songs are amazing performances. Among the many highlights are Head Games and That Was Yesterday, which have so much renewed energy and power. Kelly Hansen hits the high notes on Waiting For A Girl Like You and the massive harmony vocals on Starrider makes this an unforgettable show.

The band jams toward the end of Juke Box Hero and throws in a piece of Whole Lotta Love emphasizing that Jason Bonham is on drums.

The American release is released via Sony Music's low price series "Extended version", while French label Replica Records has released the album in Europe under a different title and treated the Europeans with something special in the shape of a bonus DVD. The DVD has live footage of Head Games, Feels Like The First Time, Urgent and Juke Box Hero plus an interview with Mick Jones regarding this new revamped Foreigner.

Amazing musicians, amazing songs and an amazing performance. Enuff said!
