Thunder - The magnificent five do Xmas
Christmas is a time characterized by traditions. Thunder has started their own Christmas tradition by playing an annual Christmas show. In December 2005 Nottingham Rock City hosted the Thunder Christmas party.

Thunder performs acoustic and overall the mood is relaxed and friendly. Singer Danny Bowes is the funny host and he jokes in his usual warm fashion. The atmosphere is lose, while the performance is tight - just listen to the opening song Amy´s on the Run and you hear a band that plays their arse off (to use British terms). Danny Bowes sounds great and the backing vocals just make this splendid musicianship.

Thunder really gives the fans something special since the show is packed with rare songs and guest performances. Danny introduces Love Worth Dying for as a song they haven't played for absolutely ages. These shows help the fans to remember the non hits and give the band a chance to air some rare songs. Thunder has written so many great songs and still very productive. There is also room for a Bowes/Morley song, namely Change from their first album.

Thunder digs out two rarely played songs from "Behind Closed Doors" namely Future Train and Till the River runs Dry. The last mentioned gem is performed with glow and passion.

"The magnificent five do Xmas" is a good hour in great company. Love the phrase "Lovely" which Danny uses a lot.

These guys get along great and it's very contagious on stage, since they are able to canalize it through the music. Thunder is one of the most unpretentious bands around and also one of the most fan appreciative bands, which this release underlines.

Lovely!
