Thunder - The EP Sessions 2007-2008
"The EP Sessions 2007-2008" marks the farewell to one of England's most prominent bands since 1989 when Thunder's debut album "Backstreet Symphony" conquered many fans.

In the year 2007 till 2008 Thunder released 3 EPs prior to their studio album "Bang" and almost all of the recordings have been combined on this single CD compilation titled "The EP Sessions 2007-2008"

Please notice that these songs are NOT outcasts or second rate Thunder - it is Thunder as we know them; British blues based rock driven by Luke Morley and Ben Matthew's characteristic guitars and Danny Bowes emotional voice.

The album is a nice mix of Rockers N' Ballads with a handful of live songs thrown in. The top rockers are Survivor, which is classic Thunder and Chain Reaction driven by a splendid Luke Morley riff. Thunder has always mastered the ballads. I Believe is a nu-Thunder classic emotional ballad. I Believe is acoustic with emotional lyrics once again dealing with love and the issue of breaking up. The outcome of Morley's superb acoustic playing and Bowes' expressive voice is one again a bulls-eye ballad that makes even the strongest boys sappy.

Only You Can Make Me Cry is another fantastic ballad. The melancholic melody line just underlines the ton of emotion that Thunder puts into their songs.

This album is a worthy end of Thunder! Hopefully they will return again because their comeback streak with "Shooting at the Sun", "The Magnificent Seventh" and "Robert Johnson's Tombstone" was amazing. "Bang" displayed a tired band, but this collection of EPs surpasses "Bang".

Till next time! So long.
