Thunder spoils their fans and treats them with goodies all year. Each year they host their own Christmas party at Rock City Nottingham and play obscure songs.
Thunder releases the show on CD via their own label and lately they also started a campaign of limited edition EPs (besides also releasing a studio album a year).
"The Joy of Six" is the third and final part of
Thunder's EP streak. The EP focuses on the mellow side of
Thunder with the first 3 tracks being acoustic and only
Survivor being a Rocker.
Yesterday's News was also feature on the
"Six of one EP".
Thunder has always mastered the ballads and
I Believe is an emotional ballad. Somehow
Thunder writes a chilling ballad per album where other writes one great ballad throughout their whole career.
I Believe is acoustic with emotional lyrics once again dealing with love and the issue of breaking up. The outcome of Morley's superb acoustic playing and Bowes' expressive voice is one again a bulls-eye ballad that makes even the strongest boys sappy.
Only You Can Make Me Cry is another fantastic ballad. The melancholic melody line just underlines the ton of emotion that
Thunder puts into their songs.
My copy is a promo but apparently the EP comes in a strictly limited edition box, big enough to hold all 3 EPs namely "The Joy Of Six", "Six Of One" and "Half A Dozen Of The Other".
