"Waiting for an Alibi" is a special limited edition single, which
Crash Kelly recorded on their previous UK Tour in support of The Quireboys.
After the recent UK Tour with
Enuff Z'nuff I have become a fan of
Crash Kelly. Their live performances were solid and consistent on all 5 England dates.
Waiting for an Alibi is a cover of
Thin Lizzy's classic tune from the "Black Rose" album.
Crash Kelly's version is close to the original and
Thin Lizzy's classic lead guitar sound is reproduced very well. This
Thin Lizzy track fits
Crash Kelly well and works better for
Crash Kelly compared to the
Rainbow cover on the "Penny Pills" album. On their recent UK Tour with
Enuff Z'nuff I heard
Waiting for an Alibi live in concert 5 nights in a row and sometimes at soundcheck as well. I do miss the Live feel to it since
Crash Kelly is such a great Live band, where guitarist Sean Kelly and Allister Thompson act like a twin guitar duo on this track.
Penny Pills is the title track from
Crash Kelly's debut album released in 2003. It's an up-beat happy Glam song with a great signature riff.
Disgusteen is another Live favorite and often an encore at shows. When I first heard the song I thought it was a
Crash Kelly penned song. It's the infamous Canadian band Teenage Head, who originally wrote the song, but
Crash Kelly makes it sound like their own material. Stevie Jaimz and Joolz from the reformed UK Glam band Tigertaliz both contribute to the song.
The song is a punk song with a really cool middle play ending with these punk lyrics.
I jumped into my car and drove around the block
I ran into a priest and I knocked the fella off
Crash Kelly is a band in progress, so watch out for this band.
Get this single, while still in stock. It's a limited edition, which could be rare sometime. Here is an advice based on lead singer Sean Kelly's own experience with another rare single; don't ever give this record away - even to someone you're in love with.
