Wednesday, March 2, 2011 - Dragonforce Announce New Vocalist
U.K. based metal heroes Dragonforce have announced that their long search for a new vocalist is finally over. After entries from thousands of hopefuls across the globe, the shredmasters supreme welcome 23-year-old Marc Hudson to the band to fill the boots left by ZP Theart, who parted ways with the band in March of last year.

"I'm really excited about being a part of the Dragonforce family," says Marc. "It's always been my dream to dedicate my life to making music. I'm going to bring all the power and emotion I can to the songs, and help make the killer new record the fans have been waiting for!"

Born in Oxford England, Marc was picked from the thousands of applications via a number of impressive video auditions and live performances, which left the rest of the band in no doubt that they'd found their man. Since the age of 16, Marc has been building his vocal skills gigging with bands in the U.K. underground scene, developing a powerful style with influences which include Bruce Dickinson, Michael Kiske and Sebastian Bach.

Commented founding member and guitarist Herman Li: "After almost a year of searching around the globe, it's great to be able to finally tell our fans the good news. Marc's expressive and melodic vocals are sounding phenomenal on the new songs, adding another dimension to the Dragonforce sound that I am sure all the fans will love".

The band has been working on a new album since early 2010, recording in various studios in California, London and the South of France. The follow-up to 2008's hugely successful "Ultra Beatdown" album will be highly anticipated, with top 10 and top 20 chart positions all over the world and a Grammy nomination in the United States setting the precedent. With Marc brought into the fold, the band is enjoying an injection of enthusiasm and hunger that sees Dragonforce prepared to return more focused and determined than ever before.

"Everyone in the band is extremely excited about how the new material is shaping up," continues Herman. "We haven't felt this kind of energy in the band for a long time. We can't wait to unleash the next Dragonforce album later this year."

The new album is expected to hit the shelves in September, with a full world tour to follow.

You can see a clip of Marc's audition here.

Friday, July 27, 2007 - Dragonforce to re-release debut album
DragonForce will re-release their debut album Valley of the Damned - Remixed & Remastered with a bonus DVD in October 2007. The remixed debut and their second album Sonic Firestorm will also be available for the first time on picture disc vinyl. Below is a statement from guitarist Herman Li regarding this re-release package.

"For some time now we've been thinking about how great it would be that one day we could remix and remaster the Valley of the Damned album and re-release it. I still remember the amount of time and effort we spent recording that album, and financing it myself! Ignoring all the deadlines that were set for the delivery of the master tapes, we went into a lengthy recording period only to finally run out of money which meant we didn't have the time to give the songs the mix and production sound they deserve. Although many people thought the original release had a great production, it is uncomparable to the massive production sound on the albums Sonic Firestorm and Inhuman Rampage. To tell you the truth, the original release was mixed in only 36 hours as we spent most of the time working on capturing the best performances and improving the songs as much as possible.

Now, after 18 months on the road, three times around the world for the Inhuman Rampage Tour, our wish is granted with a bigger budget, better gear, more time and more experience to bring new life to Valley of the Damned. I know many old fans still consider Valley of the Damned to be our classic album. It is an album full of great songs that a lot of our new fans still haven't discovered yet unless they see us live since we have included songs from our debut album in all of our shows.

We have spent the last three weeks with producer Karl Groom remixing all the songs and giving more attention to detail than we previously had a chance to do. The final result is exactly what we want now, and beyond what was possible when we first finished Valley of the Damned four years ago. We are including a DVD in this package because we want to give you, the fans, as much as possible on this re-release. One thing is for sure, this jam packed DVD took way longer than I initially thought and I definitely under estimated the time it takes to put so much archive footage on it. This DVD will give you a feel of what was happening before we started to spend our lives on tour buses and airplanes!

For the November / December UK & European Tour we intend to play a few more songs from 'Valley' that we haven't played for a long time, so hopefully we'll see you at one of the shows. I think all you diehard fans will love this package which will be released worldwide in early October and who knows, we might even get a few new fans along the way!"

Best to you all,
Herman Li

Monday, October 10, 2005 - Drangonforce announce new album
Following a hugely successful summer and autumn, during which the 18 month campaign in support of their Sonic Firestorm album has seen them wowing festival crowds around Europe before returning to the UK to play yet another sell out tour, London based metallistsDragonforce have just completed work on their eagerly anticipated third album.

The official Dragonforce Biography

DragonForce is somewhat of a rarity, based in London England, they play a brand of music that is almost non-existent in their location. Formed in September 1999, formerly known as DragonHeart, the band changed their name in December 2001 to DragonForce to avoid confusion with other bands, record labels and movies under the same name.

The band is powered by the twin guitar assaults of Herman Li and Sam Totman, with singer ZP Theart, drummer Didier Almouzni, and keyboard player Vadim Pruzhanov. An ordinary line up it may seem at first, but DragonForce is uniquely backed by a diverse, multi-culture international line up (Hong Kong, England, South Africa, France, Ukraine) never seen before from a young new band.

In short, DragonForce's sound can be best described as a mix of modern melodic power metal with the fury of speed metal, but the band's influence comes from wide across the metal spectrum. Catchy melodies that stick straight into your head, combined with outrageous speed, power and totally over the top dual guitar wizardry are just some of their qualities which separate them from the masses. Most importantly underneath this sonic fury lies the band's indisputable strength, their song writing. Take any of their songs and you will find enough hooks to fill an ocean, enough technical process to satisfy progressive metal lovers, guitar solos to have you playing air guitar combined with catchy melodies and the strong voice of an outstanding metal shouter.

Well known in the underground, DragonForce has already toured with Halford, Stratovarius, Virgin Steele and successfully headlined their own show across England without an album out then. Previously known simply by the word of mouth among metal fans, and their songs on mp3 through the internet (over half a million download of their demo tracks from mp3.com alone), the band is now more than ready to take on the world with their long awaited debut album 'Valley of the Damned'

'Valley of the Damned' was recorded in 3 different locations between May and October 2002. The drums were recorded at Jailhouse Studio in Denmark with producer Tommy Hansen (Helloween), further recordings took place at Thin Ice Studios with producer /guitarist Karl Groom (Threshold) and at band guitarist Herman Li's home studio. The album truly shows the band's talent from performance, song writing, all the way to production!

The above biography was taken from The Official Dragonforce Web site and used with permission.

I've just recently heard some of their stuff and all I can say is AMAZING. Truly amazing. I' d like to hear some of their guitarists playing with Yngwie, Michael Angelo Batio, Chris Impelliteri, Satch or Vai. Now that would be a one hell of the blast !

If they ever come somewhere near Croatia, I'll definitelly go to see them. Very pleasent surprise on the metal scene I might say!
Keep rockin' guys !

Peace !

You guys are all Unique in your own way. But your all the same when it comes to speed. Far out man, there are no words to describe it. And goddamn it don't compare Herman and Sam to jimi hendrix and eddie van halen! They have a totally different playing style. And they could kick their asses without any difficulty anyway. By the way - To Dave mackintosh - how fast are you with your bass drums man? I have never heard you at your fastest. And me and my band are going to try extreme power metal too, bloody hell it's gonna take a long time to get as good as you guys, and I don't think we will anyway, but we would just like to continue your music style, because we all love it so much. Is that alright with you guys? silly_josh@hotmail.com anyway if you need to. Thanks alot
