Wednesday, July 21, 2010 - Iron Fire Confirm New Album Details
"Metalmorphosized", the new album from Danish metallers Iron Fire, will be released on the following dates:

Sep. 29: Spain
Oct. 1: Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Sweden, Benelux
Oct. 4: Rest of Europe
Oct. 12: USA/Canada

The band have stated that: ""Metalmorphosized" is a celebration of the band's ten-year anniversary as recording artists. Instead of just making a best-of album, we give you 13 new greatest hits. We have picked up some previous unreleased songs back from the years between 'On The Edge' [2001] and 'Revenge' [2006], and updated them to how we think Iron Fire should sound in 2010. There will also be brand new written tracks that will show the path of future albums to come.

To complete this anniversary package, all previous album recording members of the band will be guest-appearing on the record"

Friday, May 29, 2009 - News from Iron Fire
News from Iron Fire:

Hallo Metal Heads,

What's up with the "To The Grave" tour?

- Well, due to financial circumstances we are sorry to say that we have no plans for touring right now. It is certainly not a situation we like in any way, but we are still working on being able to hit the road some time later this year.
So be sure to catch us at the shows already scheduled for this summer.

At the moment we are working on some new songs, that will be following an even darker and more sophisticated path than "To The Grave".

Furthermore, we will soon have new T-Shirts for all you hungry IF bangers out there.
If you are on fecebook and haven't signed up already, be sure to joins us here too!
That's all for now!

"Enjoy the summer with Metal and Beers"

Monday, August 20, 2007 - Iron Fire - New drummer
Iron Fire have parted ways with drummer Jens Berglid. Official statement:

"After three years and two albums Jens B has decided to leave Iron Fire due to family issues. We have known this for quit some time now, but we did not want to go official with the news before we where sure to have the right replacement for Jens. After months of auditions we found the Danish metal machine with the German name Fritz Wagner, he will be the new drummer of Iron Fire and we are really exited to have some new energy in the band. Now we can finally focus on writing new songs and get ready for the Tour Of Triumph that will hit the road later this year. We wish Jens the best of luck in the future with his family and his other bands and welcome Fritz Wagner into the brotherhood. News about the Tour Of Triumph will be posted as soon things are confirmed."

Sunday, June 25, 2006 - IronFire working on new album
Latest news from IronFire:

Hey Iron heads! Here is a little up date from the dark dungeons of Copenhagen. We have been laying pretty low on the live performance side since we came home from touring with Demon and Seven Witches, and there is a reason for it. We have decided to concentrate fully on writing new material to the next Ironfire album and have been locked away in the rehearsal room for months now. The songs are almost done and we will start pre production within a few weeks. And what can you expect, well we will continue the path of Revenge, the no bull shit metal that we do. There will be songs going in different directions this time but nothing drastic just a little Regay and Samba, Just kidding :) Don't worry it will be full blown warrior metal to the bone.. If everything goes as planed (witch it never does in this band :) we will enter the studio in September. Maybe we will do one Show in Copenhagen later this year if it dosent collide with recording. And yes i know we haven't been playing Denmark for a while, but we will do all we can to make up for it after the release of our next album some time early next year. That's all for now. Hail to the hammer of metal and to Danish beer :)

Cheers,
Martin Steene

Tuesday, September 23, 2003 - IRONFIRE parting ways...
An update from IRONFIRE's website:

On Tuesday the 16th 2003 IRONFIRE as you know it came to a quick halt due to overwhelming musical differences. Though we are parting as friends, the band is being split up into two. Martin and Mads, who will continue IRONFIRE as you know it. And Jeff, Jose and Steve, who are pursuing new musical pastures.

Unable to get out of a contract with TEX, Martin and Mads will be playing the TEX gig on the 10th of October with a quickly assembled backing band featuring, Martin Slott (ex-IRONFIRE, Urban Cowboys), Jens from Sons of Tomorrow on drums, and Bent (Urban Cowboys) on bass.

We hope you'll all show up at TEX to support IRONFIRE on the 10th.

Other information
Iron Fire was formed around the mid '90's by vocalist, main songwriter, and at that point also guitarist, Martin Steene, Kristian H. Martinssen (guitar), Gunnar Olsen (drums) and Jakob Lykkebo (bass), and since then they've had a lot of changes in the line up. Only founding member remaining today is Martin Steene.

Starting out by playing some sort of Doom Metal under the name Misery, then changing to Death Metal under the name Decades Of Darkness, the band finally found the style that they wanted to continue playing, which was Power/Heavy Metal, and once again changed the name, now to Iron Fire.
The music is straight ahead, oldshcool Heavy Metal with a lot of references to Power Metal. Inspirations for this band are clear: Helloween, HammerFall, Gamma Ray, but probably most of all Running Wild. The sound reminds me a lot about the German/European Power Metal scene, with the afore mentioned bands, but also elements from Hard Rock and even Glam is incorporated.

In 1998, Iron Fire made their first demo, and shortly after, the band was signed to Noise Records (the home of bands like Gamma Ray), and released their debut album Thunderstorm in 2000. This record is very special to me, I was actually surprised by the quality of songwriting and playing ability, also because the band was very young when making it.
After this the expectations were high when the second record, On The Edge was released in 2001. Unfortunally, it didn't quite live up to my expectations. The sound had changed to a more dark and less catchy one, and the album suffers from some kind of loss of "drive" or flow, so to speak.

Some time later Iron Fire split ways with Noise Records and found themselves being back at the demostage.
The struggle to keep the band together continued, and Iron Fire again went through some line up changes. After hooking up with Jeff Luka (guitars), Mads Andersen (guitars), Steve Mason (drums) and José Cruz (bass), two demos were made, consisting of great songs and showing that then band is still capable of making cool, melodic Metal!

My way to becoming an Ironhead:

I discovered Iron Fire by seeing them live. It was at a very, very small Danish Metal festival in 1998 , where they were playing at the small stage, and it was at the point were they'd just made one demo, which I bought at the show. When Iron Fire were signed to Noise Records I was very happy and I bought Thunderstorm as soon as it came out. After listening to this album over and over for a long time, I was hooked! This album is so great, actually I can't find one bad track on it!

On The Edge was to me a weaker album, and for a while I kind of lost interest a little. But it takes more than one album, I don't like to make me turn my back on a cool band, so I continued to see a great deal of live performances from Iron Fire, which is pretty easy since they come from my hometown and play here quite often. When the band uploaded a bunch of new demosongs on their homepage, I was very exited, and to my joy, I found out they sounded more in the vein of the earlier songs than the On The Edge album, and I got pretty ecstatic about them! Then I got two new demos, which proved what I had hoped: Iron Fire had created some very good new tracks, like in the old days! Now I believe Iron Fire can come back on a label and release more great records soon!

Discography:
Demo '98. (1998)
Thunderstorm (2000)
On The Edge (2001)
Demo 2003 (2003)
The Underworld (demo, 2002)
