Other information
Piledriver was never a real band, just concept spunk by some record label guy, trying to make money on Heavy Metal's rising popularity in the mid-80's. Everything from concept, the far out image, the crazed out stage names of the (non-existing) "members" to the actual music was part of a bigger plan to sell records. A masquerade.

Today it has been revealed, that the first album, Metal Inquisition was written and performed by Leslie Howe (a record producer, also responsible for acts like Alanis Morrisette). So, at least to me, it was a nice surprise to discover the rough, uncompromising Metal madness of this release.

The second album Stay Ugly was written and performed by none other than David DeFeis and Edward Pursino of Virgin Steele fame. On Both albums Gord Kirchin a.k.a. The Piledriver handles the vocals.

Even the album cover for Metal Inquisition was not showing the "real" Piledriver. This album, so famed for the band's outrageous S&M styled image, didn't even show the real bandleader on the cover! When the Piledriver, Gord Kirchin weren't around for the photo session, they chose just to dress up some random guy for the cover.

Even though it has been claimed in many interviews with Piledriver (along with many other fake "facts"), the band has never played live. That would be quite a hard task for a band, consisting of only one man and some fictional names! That's also why I don't really understand the circulating rumors of a Piledriver reunion.there's no one to reunite!

Gord Kirchin moved on to form his own band Dogs With Jobs after Piledriver was laid to rest. More information can be found on his homepage www.sofa-q.com
