Alice Cooper Announces UK Tour
Sunday, June 12, 2011
I wish Alice would stop playing all seated venues.

Hatriot EP Available For Download
Tuesday, May 17, 2011
I actually can't read the name any other way. When puns go bad...

Nevermore Guitarist And Drummer Quit
Friday, April 22, 2011
Utterly gutted by this, Van is an amazing drummer and hard enoug to replace. But Jeff defined Nevermore's sound, I simply don't see how they can continue as before without him.

Kamelot - Roy Khan Officially Leaves Kamelot
Friday, April 22, 2011
To be honest, i think it might turn out to be a blessing in disguise that Khan has left. Youngblood admitted in an interview a while back that they would be playing older, faster and higher-pitched songs on the latest tour that Khan couldn't or wasn't interested in singing.

Since I'm not a fan of the route the band have taken in the last couple of records this may mean a return to the 4th Legacy/Karma sound with a new singer.

Majesty Are Back
Monday, April 18, 2011
How very odd, I'm going to hazard a guess and say that they are lo longer on Magic Circle Music and so decided to change their name back.

Iron Maiden wins "Best Metal Performance"
Monday, February 14, 2011
Which, although good for Maiden, shows how much of a joke the Grammys are. El Dorado is a pretty bland song as far as Maiden go and nowhere near the best song on the album.

New band Confirmed For Sweden Rock Festival 2011
Wednesday, February 9, 2011
I was hoping we could get away with that one :)

On further inspection it appears they were playing some Swedish hard rock cruise and not Sweden rock.

Manowar Confirm First UK Date In Years
Tuesday, December 21, 2010
Unless there are any Scottish dates (Which I doubt) I will be down the front at this one!

Ross The Boss Frontman In Car Accident
Thursday, December 9, 2010
Christ knows, would have re-written the whole thing if I'd had the time. Not really the most sensitive piece ever written.

Stratovarius - Some Extremely Bad News
Thursday, November 18, 2010
That is horrible news, get well soon Jorg!

New Monster Magnet Video Online
Friday, October 1, 2010
Good song and an amusing video. Interesting that its only Dave's mouth that appears in the video, perhaps trying to hide the weight gain from the record buying public?

Mike Portnoy Leaves Dream Theater
Thursday, September 9, 2010
Damn Microsoft Word, to quote Monty Python "You Americans!"

Snowy Shaw Joins Dimmu Borgir Then Returns To Therion
Friday, August 27, 2010
Shagrath has stated that Dimmu will now be a 3 piece.

New Grave Digger Album Details Released
Friday, July 16, 2010
Tunes Of War is my favourite Grave Digger album so I'll be very interested to hear this one.

Metalforce World Cup Song Available To Download
Saturday, July 3, 2010
Yeah that was a real shame wasn't it?

Official Rush Youtube Channel Launched
Sunday, June 20, 2010
Rush fans I would expect.

Sabbat Removed From Arch Enemy Tour
Saturday, May 29, 2010
Cheers Arch Enemy, you have just saved me some money. I shall be returning my ticket to see your band and purchasing one for Sabbat instead. Plus I'll think twice about ever paying money to see you in the furure.

Lets hope a good chunk of your audiance do the same.

Geezer Butler Speaks About Ronnie James Dio
Wednesday, May 19, 2010
My heart broke while reading that but I'm glad Geezer shared it.

Ex-Dio Keyboard Player Comments On Ronnie James Dio
Tuesday, May 18, 2010
I think it says something about what sort of person Ronnie was when almost every metal musician/fan who has been lucky enough to meet him has spoken about how amazing he was over the past few days.

When did you get the opportunity to meet the wee man Nina?

I would have loved to have spoken to him but closest I got to him off-stage was watching from afar as him and the band jumped out of a taxi and were ushered into the back door of a venue.

Sanctuary To Reform
Wednesday, May 12, 2010
I'm pretty excited by this!

Question is can Warrel still handle those high notes?

Forbidden Confirm New Album Title
Tuesday, May 4, 2010
Heavy Metal Musician In Bollocks Talking Shocker!

Seriously though, I reckon you could perhaps have got away with saying that in the couple of years following 9/11, with paranoia and mistrust rife and terror levels being jacked up left, right and center for no apparent reason but these days, riding out the end of an economic downturn, you would like to think the future is a little brighter.

Forbidden Confirm New Album Title
Tuesday, May 4, 2010
Thrash metal? Never heard of it, your a long way from home here buddy.

Rhapsody Of FIre - Sea Of Fate Video Online
Tuesday, May 4, 2010
I'm guessing the idea behind this video was "Right guys, lets let the music do the talking"

Which isn't really the kind of attitude I want from Rhapsody, I want Dwarves and Goblins running about Fabio's feet and dragon's ruffling Luca's mullet!

Heaven And Hell Cancel All Summer Shows
Tuesday, May 4, 2010
Gutted about this, I was going to see them at not only Bloodstock but supporting Iron Maiden in Dublin.

I hope Ronnie gets well soon but you have got to question why these shows were booked when there was a very real possibility this could happen.

New Ozzy Song
Sunday, April 18, 2010
Now that is one awful chorus. Sadly the rest of the song isnt up to much either.

Sabaton to kick off extended World War Tour this summer
Thursday, March 4, 2010
Well I shall certainly be at the Garage in Glasgow for this gig!

Manowar - Hell On Earth V Trailer
Friday, December 4, 2009
Looks good, I'll either be purchasing it or waiting till Barry gets his hands on it :)

Ronnie James Dio diagnosed with cancer.
Friday, November 27, 2009
Horrible news, I was worried it could be somthing this serious when I heard that the entire UK tour was cancelled.

Hope Dio makes a quick and full recovery. He is a Metal legend and still one of the top Metal vocalists around.

Sweden Rock Festival 2010 - First bands announced
Wednesday, November 25, 2009
Not really an awe inspiring start for me. kiske's band will be interesting since they are gonna play some Helloween songs but apart from that I'm not overly excited by anyone else.

Still plenty more to be announced!

RevelationZ Magazine - Website problems
Friday, September 18, 2009
Which of your two sheds did you lock it in?

Bon Jovi - New Album Due In November
Tuesday, August 11, 2009
Still not 100% certain I want to spend £40-50 seeing Bon Jovi in a stadium. I've not bothered the past few times they have played Glasgow as I'm just not a big fan of stadium gigs.

But apparently I missed a cracking gig last time round as they played a varied set list and not just tracks from the new album plus the big hits so it is tempting.

The End Of Metal Church
Thursday, July 9, 2009
Sad news this one, I havent heard the newest album but A Light In The Dark was pretty good.

Saw them at a festival a few years back and they were one of the bands of the festival.

Manowar - The Asgard Saga
Saturday, April 25, 2009
That's the cat, I take it you are familiar with his handy work?

Manowar - The Asgard Saga
Friday, April 24, 2009
God knows how this is going to turn out, I'm hoping the band provides more Metal and less overblown bluster with the new album.

Oh and Manowar singing about Thor? Well I never!

Tim 'Ripper' Owens Announces Live Lineup For Summer Shows In Support Of New Solo Album
Thursday, April 2, 2009
Thats some line-up he has got together. Looking forward to seeing him!

ANVIL! The Story Of Anvil - DVD Version To Be Released In The UK In June
Friday, March 6, 2009
Saw the film a couple of weeks back. Excellent documentary.

We actually got lucky in Glasgow and got tickets to a sneak preview which included an Q&A with the director and band plus a 3 song set by the band themselves.

It was quite odd seeing the band rock out in a cinema hall but it was a great night. You can see footage from the bands performance on youtube :

Magic Circle Festival 2009 details
Wednesday, March 4, 2009
Looking into this it seems that Manowar only appear to be playing one day of the festival. Slightly disappointing if thats true.

Magic Circle Festival 2009 details
Wednesday, March 4, 2009
Yeah the seat thing is a bit worrying. How can their be a festival with seats? Unless there is a raised platform somewhere???

And if I rember last year the Ultimate Fan Package was only about £60 more than the price of a standard ticket. Big hike this year.

Sadly thats the kind of thing you get at big "event" gigs these days. Bands like Bon Jovi charge silly money for "golden circle tickets" plus assorted gifts. Can be a bit of a con sometimes.

New Hammerfall video
Tuesday, January 20, 2009
Wow, they spent all of 5 minutes writing that chorus didn't they?

Its not a terible song, just underwhelming.

Saxon and Iced Earth announce European tour
Wednesday, November 26, 2008
Perhaps the UK dates are still forthcoming?

Well what I mean is perhaps that traditional 1 date in London is still forthcoming.

New Metallica song online
Sunday, August 24, 2008
Listening to the first few mins was just like listening to some outtake from Load or Reload (Re-loaded anyone?) but I was actually taken aback when it kicked in. It's strangely rather good.

Gives me some hope for the new album.

Message from Rhapsody
Tuesday, June 24, 2008
It also explains why Rhapsody are not playing Magic Circle Festival this year. I thought they would have been a shoe-in for playing.

Falconer finishing new album
Thursday, May 22, 2008
Northwind while not being as good as the first two albums was certainly a return to form for Falconer. Hopefully the new album will be just as good.

More bands confirmed for Magic Circle Festival 2008
Friday, April 25, 2008
Looks like a pretty stong line up doesnt it?

Shame I need to stand through Whitesnake and Def Bloody Leppard on the 3rd day. But seeing Manowar will make it worth it!

Stormwarrior replace Sir Lord Baltimore at Sweden Rock
Friday, April 4, 2008
Having downloaded some Sir Lord Baltimore stuff I was quite looking forward to them. But getting to see King Kai Hasen beaking out some early Helloween classics will be much better.

And if there is one thing that the Sweden Rock line up needed this year it was more Power Metal. So I'm rather chuffed about this.
