Monday, February 14, 2011 - Iron Maiden wins "Best Metal Performance" | Iron Maiden was honored with a Grammy in the "Best Metal Performance" category at the 53rd annual Grammy Awards last night. Iron Maiden was nominated for the track "El Dorado", from the band's 2010 album "The Final Frontier".
The nominees in this year's "Metal" category were as follows:
IRON MAIDEN - "El Dorado" (from "The Final Frontier")
KORN - "Let The Guilt Go" (from "Korn III: Remember Who You Are")
LAMB OF GOD - "In Your Words" (from "Wrath"
MEGADETH - "Sudden Death" (from "Guitar Hero: Warriors Of Rock")
SLAYER - "World Painted Blood" (from "World Painted Blood")

Comments: 116 | | Which, although good for Maiden, shows how much of a joke the Grammys are. El Dorado is a pretty bland song as far as Maiden go and nowhere near the best song on the album.

Comments: 166 | | I agree it is a joke. It was the final frontier w/ that killer video, then perhaps it could be in the discussion. The Grammys are a lame duck and have been for decades. It is about what sells. And Iron Maiden is selling. Now if they picked Final Frontier (w/ that killer video) then we may have something to discuss. I would have gone with Slayer on that one.
