| Friday, June 10, 2011 - Sabaton To Release Live Album | Swedish epic power metallers Sabaton will release their first-ever live album, "World War Live: Battle Of The Baltic Sea" on August 5 via Nuclear Blast Records.
Commented bassist Pär Sundström: "Over the years so many people have told us we should make a live album and finally we fell to the demands of all of you, our fans.
'The World War Tour' was amazing and we wanted to record it and keep the shows alive forever. So, during the magic night aboard the Sabaton Cruise 2010 we recorded the whole show and now we stand ready to release it as the first-ever official Sabaton live CD. And as if it was not enough, we also recorded many shows all around Europe and put together a whole CD with mixed songs from various cities. And finally we decided to release the recording we did at the first Rockstad:Falun festival 2008 from Falun as a bonus for you who buy the limited edition. In total it will be over 20 different songs and we have also collected a lot of pictures from the tour and put them in a massive booklet. We will reveal all details very soon."

Sabaton have posted a teaser for their upcoming video clip "Screaming Eagles"! Check it out here.
The band also issued the following statement:
"Just as the first part of our great tour reaches the end and Europe thought they had seen the last of us we now proudly announce that we will strike Europe again for a second tour in the spring.
This time we will go to the places we did not visit so much in the past including Spain and Portugal. It will also be our first ever visit to Luxembourg, aswell as the first SABATON headline show in Slovenia."
Together with the already presented dates the SABATON - World War Headline Tour is now more then 75 concerts, covering over 30 European countries, and it's growing...

| Tuesday, August 31, 2010 - Sabaton To Re-Release Back Catalogue | Sabaton have released the following press statement with regards to re-releases of their older records::
"Do you wonder what Sabaton did in the studio about one month ago?
Do you wonder why Primo Victoria, Attero Dominatus, Metalizer and Art of War is so hard to get these days?
This is why...
To be able to continue to do what we all love, meaning to continue to play music and to tour the world, we have now purchased the rights to the Sabaton music. And to celebrate this we want to make them available again to all of you in a unique cooperation between Sabaton, Nuclear Blast and Black Lodge.
Now what does this mean??
Well, first it means that when you buy a Sabaton album, more of the money spent on the albums will actually go to Sabaton and second it means that we want to celebrate this by making the first four albums available again, but in really cool new versions!

| Wednesday, May 12, 2010 - Sabaton - Another Coat Of Arms Track Available | Swedish power metal icons Sabaton have just uploaded another brand new song of their highly anticipated new album "Coat Of Arms".

Commented bass player Pär Sundström: "We have now uploaded another song from our upcoming album Coat of Arms on our myspace site. This time its a classic Sabaton song handling the topic of the exile pilots who fought in the Battle of Britain during WW2. This was one of the first songs we directly felt a connection to and quickly made the decision that the song goes onto the album. Most likely you will hear us play this song live very soon! | Wednesday, April 21, 2010 - Sabaton News | Sabaton will be releasing their new album, Coat Of Arms, via Nuclear Blast on May 21st throughout Europe and the 24th in the UK.
'Uprising' and the album's title track are currently streaming online at the band's MySpace page.
The band comments: "We are proud to announce that we have added the track 'Uprising' from our upcoming album to our MySpace site. The song is a powerful and emotional tribute to those who lost their lives in the Warsaw uprising in 1944."
The band also announces that they will shoot a video clip for the song under just spectacular circumstances.
"We are happy to announce that the recording of our music video for the song 'Uprising' has been rescheduled successfully, and that it will take place in Warsaw during this and next week. Out of respect for the Polish mourning period we decided to postpone the video shoot last week, and now we will try again.
This will by far be the biggest Sabaton video production ever, and dare we say: one of the biggest in heavy metal?
The video will feature Peter Stormare (Prison Break, 8MM, Fargo) as SS-Obergruppenführer von dem Bach and will be directed by Jacek Raginis (related to decorated WWII hero Wladyslav Raginis)."
Sabaton recently announced their first full UK headline tour alongside allies/Scottish Pirate metallers Alestorm for a six day attack of England, Scotland and Wales.
When asked for comment, Sabaton vocalist Joakim Brodén replied: "You want me to say some words about us going on tour with Alestorm? I only need two: Blitzkrieg Piracy! We've met these guys several times on the road, and they're just as fucked up as we are. Expect some crazy ass shows."

| Wednesday, March 3, 2010 - Sabaton to kick off extended World War Tour this summer | Swedish war machine Sabaton is about to embark on yet another invasion!
As the new album "Coat of Arms" hits the stores on the 21st of May the bands prepares for a massive assault through the European mainland on major metal festivals during the summer.
Their headline tour, fittingly named the "World War Tour" kicks off on the 27th of August and consists of over 60 shows in more than 20 nations.
The final show will take place on the 11th of december, after which the outfit will regroup, rearm and prepare for yet another strike in 2011.
Tickets are already available for many of the shows and the rest will follow ASAP.

Sabaton wish you a Heavy New Year. On next Monday we start our real recordings of the 'Coat of Arms' album. You will be able to follow the recordings via our Youtube channel. We also have another teaser from the upcoming album. This song is more earlier Sabaton style with more guitar work. | Sunday, January 7, 2007 - Sabaton to release debut album | Sabaton's debut album, "Metalizer", which was originally recorded in 2002 for Italy's Underground Symphony Records, will finally see the light of day on March 16 via Black Lodge Records. As a special bonus, this release will feature the complete "Fist for Fight" demo album on a separate CD. The 24-song album will also feature artwork by acclaimed artist Mattias Norén. A tour in support of "Metalizer" is tentatively being planned for late spring/early summer. You can pre-order "Metalizer" here.

Band Profile
What is your name and your current position in the band?
My name is Joakim Brodén and I'm responsible for the lead vocals.
Tell us about the history of the band. More specifically, when was the band formed, how did you meet, and have there been any particular highlights or low points in your career, any crucial events that have taken you where you are today?
The band was formed in early 1999 and was called Aeon at the time, (which of course already was taken) so we changed it to Sabaton just before y2k and continued our path from there.
When I joined the guys in mid '99 (originally hired as a keyboardist after meeting Rikard and Pär at a party) they still hadn't found a vocalist so I picked up the microphone until one could be found and when we recorded our first demotape (yes, we used tapes in those days ;) I was the only one still looking for a singer, the other guys pretty much decided that I was going to keep singing without telling me.
Communication obviously wasn't one of our qualities in those days.
Shortly after our first recording Daniel and Oskar replaced the previous drummer and guitarist, so we've had a stable lineup since late '99. (excluding keyboardists of course, since we've had pretty much the same luck with them as Spinal Tap had with their drummers.)
Our current keyboardist Daniel Mÿhr has been with us for about 1,5 year now and that's an all time record for a keybanger in this band so I'm expecting a spontaneous combustion or a mysterious disappearance any time now.
After that things started moving in a slow but steady pace, and that's the way it is.
Hard work, determination, a bit of good luck and an occasional beer.
Was there ever a time when you wondered if your band would remain just a local outfit and never make it in the industry?
Our main goals has always been to compose and perform great music, have fun and hopefully someday make a living out of it.
If we'd had any doubts, we wouldn't have made it.
What is your latest album and why should people buy it?
Our latest album is called "Attero Dominatus" and the reason for buying it is simple:
It's a kickass album!
If you liked our previous album "Primo Victoria" you're gonna love "Attero Dominatus."
It consists of 9 tracks, all great, all meant to be there.
The filler tracks were removed before they were completed.
How would you categorize the style of the band? And did you ever consider or try playing other styles of music than the one(s) you are playing now?
I've heard/seen us described as many styles, (the most creative being "beef metal") and really can't keep up with the categories any more so I'll just say plain old heavy metal.
And I think Sabaton will stick to it.
Can you share with us one or two of your favourite moments with the band?
The first thing that comes to mind is when I heard the intro to "Primo Victoria" with all the backing vocals in the mix.
We'd never done vocal harmonies that way before, but when I heard it I knew that this was big, and that this is what Sabaton is all about.
The second big moment is harder to single out since we've had so many good times with the band so I'll just say coming home to Sweden and playing in Stockholm on the tour with Edguy and Dragonforce last winter.
How is the writing process in the band?
I write all the music myself, and the lyrics are written by me and Pär. (bass)
When composing the music I generally lock myself in a room with a guitar, piano, keyboard or whatever is close at hand and start playing what's in my head.
When writing the lyrics things are generally a little more structured since we've written a lot of lyrics about real wars and need to do quite a bit of research before we start the writing process.
What brought you on the path to becoming a musician? Did you ever consider or take any other paths through life besides music?
When I started playing music as a kid I had absolutely no ambitions regarding music except having fun.
Later on when I started to play in bands as a teenager the desire to make more and more music and to play in front of an audience grew stronger and it still grows today, so I guess it all happened gradually so I never really took a decision, it just happened.
Do you have any idols? If yes, who?
I've always admired great songwriters more than I've admired good instrumentalists/vocalists, probably because there are so many amazing instrumentalists but very few great composers.
Ritchie Blackmore and Tony Iommi are favourites of course, but I also really like a lot of film score composers like James Horner, Zimmer and Williams.
Do you have any regrets looking back at your career? For example any songs or even full albums that you regret recording? If so, what made you regret it?
No regrets here, some minor stuff here and there that could have been done differently, but no major regrets.
Are there particular songs in your catalogue that the fans love but you're not particular fond of yourself?
I have never written/performed a song that I wasn't proud of at that time, but when I look back at some songs today there's of course some songs I'd rather not perform today.
The song "Shadows" for example, not because I think it's a bad tune, but it's so damn boring to perform. (probably got sick of it during the first 3-4 years of rehearsals when we always played it.)
How important do you rate the lyrical side of your albums?
I always put the music first, and the lyrics second, but that's not saying that I dismiss the lyrics as unimportant.
On our 2 latest albums "Primo Victoria" and "Attero Dominatus" a shitload of work went into research and the writing process so I would say very important, at least on the two albums mentioned above.
What do you think about the state of the music industry today?
There's more to the dropping cd-sales than piracy alone, and the largest record companies have to realize that there's so much more in the media/entertainment business competing for the consumers money today than it was only 10 years ago.
There is a problem with piracy, but maybe not as large as the "big ones" would like us to believe.
What do you think is the best way to fight music piracy?
Embrace the pirates methods and make it REALLY easy for the consumer to listen to the music before they buy it, and even easier to buy.
Wouldn't it be nice to be able to go online, and prelisten to an album online, and when you've ordered the album you get to download all of it in good quality so you can listen to it on your computer while you're waiting for the cd to arrive?
If there was a huge "musicnet" where basically all recordings ever made existed and were available for prelistening/downloading/ordering MANY more would pay for the music they're listening to.
People in general are lazy, not cheap, and if you make it even easier for them to get the music they want than the pirates can you're back in the game.
Do you have a life philosophy? If yes, what is it?
Boring answer, but no.
Can you describe a typical day in your life?
I really can't since there are no real "typical" days in my life right now.
One week I'm at home unemployed, the next I'm working in the studio or somewhere else, and another week I might be on tour with the band.
No real routines except us listening and singing along to "Eddie Meduza" before going on stage.
What do you like to spend your time with besides music?
I like to spend most of my free time with my friends and family since I don't get to see them very much these days, read books, training with my ninja clan etc.
Barbeque, Beer and Baseball is always a fun combination!
What's the craziest thing that has ever happened on a tour?
The last we played in Stockholm (early June) I was awoken by a really
pissed off cleaning maid in the wrong hotel room with an open window
wearing nothing but my boxers, and no memory whatsoever on how I ended
up in there.
The last thing I remeber is saying goodnight to a backline tech who I
shared my room with and the next thing I know I'm being yelled at by
some ugly bitch with an attitude problem.
Earlier in the evening we had been joking about a time when I and
another backline tech went out on the roof of a hotel in another city
and climbed over to the other side of the building and broke in to
another hotel room through the window to steal a thong belonging to an
unknown girl "visiting" a member of another band we played with that
night.
And now the general opinion in the band is that I went "Master Ninja
thonghunting" in my sleep that night in Stockholm and broke into a room
on the other side hotel through the window and passed out.
You're heading off to live on a deserted island for a couple of years with your portable entertainment system... Which albums, movies or books would you bring? (Max. 3 of each)

What is your favourite joke?

Can you tell us about any future plans for you and your band?
Next up is a smaller Europe tour through Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands and after that we'll spend the entire autumn/early winter in Scandinavia.
In early 2007 we'll go back out on a bigger Europe tour with Grave Digger and Therion and after that.. A new release perhaps?
