Dew Scented - Impact
Dew Scented are back with another extreme Thrash bombardment! Much like Inwards, Impact is fast, heavy, and unrelenting in it's attack.

Once again they have used ace producer Andy Classen (Graveworm, Krisiun, etc.) to meld the power they posses in an audible and most powerful way.
The foursome known as Dew Scented consist of Leif Jensen(Vocals),Florian Muller(Guitars), Hendrik Bache(Guitars/Bass),Uwe Werning(Drums).
The four Germans are at the top of their game and at the top of the new version Thrash machines making such a huge Impact these days(pun intended):)

For those who are familiar with Dew Scented already you will have no fear in buying this album. It is no more or no less than Inwards part II. For me that was a welcome thing because what they do, they do so well, you really & truely do hope they continue doing it. So fans will not be dissappointed at all.

If you have never heard Dew Scented then hold on to your butts......do you like or own any of the best Slayer albums? If so, you will want Dew Scented in your collection. Think "South Of Heaven" and "Seasons In The Abyss" era Slayer and you have their twin brothers banging it out hard, fast, and heavy but in a modern age with the best production today's tech heads have dreamed up so far. Now Leif is no Tom Arraya but he is no less powerful and vile in his sick growlings. A bit more on an understandable Death metal vocal vibe.

Uwe burns them skins alot like, but i think somewhat better than, Dave Lombardo. I don't mean mean to be comapring the two because they are different and both exceptional drummers but the music is so similar in style to those Slayer albums that you can get an idea of hwo they might sound should drummers exchange places. Uwe is more of a deep filling drummer where as Lombardo really retains a steady place as a rhythm machine and there is nothing wrong with both approaches in my opinion.

The guitarists are another story completely. I'm gonna step on some toes I know but these guys are years ahead of King and Hanneman as far as technical ability and sheer brutal burn quotient. That being said, what King and Hanneman, along with Arraya And Lombardo had was a gift of songs with hooks and very memorable. This is where Slayer outshines most on the previous albums mentioned above. While there is nothing wrong with the way Dew Scented writes they don't have as much 'hook' going on and the songs can run a little together sometimes. So if I were to offer anything to these guys in the way of constructive criticsm it would be to try and write more memorable songs.

Maybe they need a 'Rick Rubin' to put them on the Slayer drawn map but we will see what happens.
Some samples are available at two sites. www.dewscented.de and www.nuclearblast.de There you can find about how to get a hold of their former albums, the new one, and other general info like tour dates etc.

Cheers to Dew Scented for another great album!
