White Trash UK - Greatest Hits
In 1996 Noise Records meant to release this album, but it got shelved and eventually lost. 14 years later the album finally sees the light of day.

White Trash UK was a 4-piece band from Birmingham. The members have continued their musical careers in other bands; drummer Paul Brookes later played with Benediction and Bolthrower and singer Lee J. Pistolero now fronts one of the most original Rock N' Roll bands Gypsy Pistoleros. White Trash UK disbanded after recording the album and since this is their only album it has been named "Greatest Hits". Time has been kind to the album and you could easily get fooled that this was a fresh album recorded by a "new band".

The music is rooted in seventies punk, but spans wider than punk; Changeling and Dead Hillbilly are modern funky tunes, which Faith No More could have recorded. Bassist John Jowitt lays down some solid funky lines.

Thrill Kill Killers is the most original tune. Lee J. Pistolero has a very unique voice and therefore White Trash UK doesn't sound like any others. Lee's vocals are up-front and his strong trademark vocals define the band.

The listener gets a breather on Nightmare Land and Woman, which both have great emotions. It is a bit ironic that Nightmare Land and Woman are the tunes that work best on a high-octane Punk 'N' Roll record.

If you like Gypsy Pistoleros you should check this out. Personally I love Lee's voice and he certainly makes the record enjoyable.
