Since 1985
Strike Twice has delivered Hard driving rock with a blend of hooking melodies and provocative lyrics. Singer Mike Hayes has a good voice and his own tone.
Tango and
Undress Me are the best songs fueled by energy, attitude and drive. On those two songs
Strike Twice sounds like Ugly Kid Joe when they were on top of their game. The music has a street feel to it that makes it trustworthy and not as polished as many other bands in the Hard Rock genre.
The last part of the record is the best. The last 5 songs are killer with the ballad
Wake Up Cryin as yet another highlight.
Strike Twice packed the New York clubs and apparently they were best on stage. This type of music is fun and entertaining so I can only imagine
Strike Twice's live show with smoke, balloons, confetti and flame-spit. The last 5 songs should have earned
Strike Twice a deal - no doubt about that. Apart from
White Lion there were only a few New York based Hard Rock groups that were signed back in those days.
"
Strike Twice" contains eleven tracks and a playing time of 41 minutes.
In May 2008 the band reunited with three original members plus a new bassist and drummer. Again I understate that the last part of the record proves that
Strike Twice's music is memorable and justifies them going for another round.
