Monday, February 7, 2011 - Artillery: Two New Songs Available
Danish thrash metal veterans Artillery have completed work on their sixth album, "My Blood", for a March 21 European release (April 5 in the U.S. and March 9 in Japan). 14 songs were laid down during the sessions - 10 brand new tracks, a remake of "Ain't Giving In" (from 1992's "Mind Factory" demo) and three bonus tracks which are all new versions of timeless classics from the 1985 album "Fear Of Tomorrow" ("The Eternal War", "The Almighty" and "Show Your Hate").

Tuesday, April 27, 2010 - Artillery Enters Studio In November
The Danish thrash veterans Artillery, will enter the recording studio on the 29th of November, only 1 1/2 year after their successful album "When Death Comes" (2009)
 
The new recordings will take place again at Medley Studios in Denmark, with Søren Andersen as producer. The forthcoming, yet untitled album will be released by Metal Mind Productions in mid 2011.

What is your name and your current position in the band?
 
Michael Stützer : Guitar
 
How would you categorize the style of the band? And did you ever consider or try playing other styles of music than the one(s) you are playing now?
 
Thrash Metal, Yes i´ve been playing Heavy Metal and Blues, but I love playing Thrash Metal
 
What is your latest album and why should people buy it?
 
When Death Comes.
People should buy "WDC" because it has aggression, melody,  good hook lines and original Songs and  a great production.
 
Tell us about the history of the band. More specifically, when was the band formed, how did you meet, and have there been any particular highlights or low points in your career, any crucial events that have taken you where you are today?
 
The band started in 1982 and we  made 5 albums and 1 DVD until now.
The Highlights By Inheritance 1989 and When death comes 2009 and also Roskilde festival en 1989 (Orange Scene), Wacken open air 2000  and Metalmania festivalen polen 2008, Touring Rusia 1989 etc!
Low points : unstable line ups and reunions with our former singer. The delay of Terror Squad for almost a year from the record company! 
 
Was there ever a time when you wondered if your band would remain just a local outfit and never make it in the industry?
 
Yes sometimes, but we never was thinking about that, because it´s more important to have fun playing! 
 
Can you share with us one or two of your favourite moments with the band?
 
Playing Wacken 2000 in Germany
 
The reunion with our new singer in 2007 which really got the band back in action for real!
 
How is the writing process in the band?
 
Morten comes with most of the songs and contribute with the arrangements and with some lyrics
I contribute with some songs,arrangements and some lyrics
Søren write most of the lyrics
Carsten and Peter contribute with the arrangements
 
 
 
 
What brought you on the path to becoming a musician? Did you ever consider or take any other paths through life besides music?
 
I love to play so it comes from the heart, but you have to due real time job too!
 
Do you have any idols? If yes, who?
 
I have a lot but one of my biggest is Toni Iommi!
 
Do you have any regrets looking back at your career? For example any songs or even full albums that you regret recording?  If so, what made you regret it?
 
There´s been a lot, but making Back was a mistake even if it had some good tunes, it was to much of a project and not a band effort!
 
Are there particular songs in your catalogue that the fans love but you're not particular fond of yourself?
 
No not really!
 
How important do you rate the lyrical side of your albums?
 
It is very important, but the music is what really counts
 
What do you think about the state of the music industry today?
 
It has its ups and downs and we really can do so much about it anyway!
 
What do you think is the best way to fight music piracy?
 
The best way is to get the fans, to see that they support the band by buying their records!
I personally always buy the records I like (I got nearly 3000 cd´s )
 
Do you have a life philosophy? If yes, what is it?
 
To treat other people like you want them to treat you, and try to have so much fun as you can get.
 
Can you describe a typical day in your life?
 
I think it´s very normal.
Up in the morning go to the job, pick up your children and so on! 
 
 
What do you like to spend your time with besides music?
 
My kids and girlfriend!
Another big interest is football and I been following my team since I was a little boy

What's the craziest thing that has ever happened on a tour?
 
There´s been a few !
When we played in Russia the fans entered the stage and they were so many that we had to play without seeing each other. That was strange
 
You're heading off to live on a deserted island for a couple of years with your portable entertainment system... Which albums, movies or books would you bring? (Max. 3 of each)
 
 Black Sabbath : Sabotage
Grand Funk Railroad : E pluribus Funk
Exodus : Bounded by blood
 
Books Stephen King, Alister McLean and Wilbur Schmidt 
 
Films Spinal tap, a horror movie and some Leslie Nielsen movie
 
What is your favourite joke?
 
I dont know, but if you ask the rest of the guys in the band, they will say I told too much jokes!
 
Can you tell us about any future plans for you and your band?
 
We are going to tour a lot and will record a new album in 2010!
