Hardcore Superstar - Beg For It
Hardcore Superstar has established themselves as European superstars after the self-titled album from 2005. "Beg for it" is the first album to feature former Crazy Lixx guitarist Vic Zino. Hardcore Superstar has refueled the batteries and once again sounds fresh with a "We'll show them" attitude.

The album opens with an intro, which must be a tribute to Ennio Morricone who made music for several spaghetti westerns.

The title track thunders away, which proves Hardcore Superstar at the top of their game. The catchiness of Beg for It makes the song an instant album favorite after first listen. This is also the first single from the album and it has already gone gold in Sweden.

Shades Of Grey is a grower. The melody line from Vic Zino acts as leitmotif of the song. Singer Jocke Berg sounds fantastic with his sleazy vocals. The chorus is another treasure on this varied song with a few shifts in tempo. Shades of Grey certainly is among album highlights.

Nervous Breakdown is up-tempo, but with a melodic chorus. Vic Zino seems to fit the band great even though he is a guitar hero in a band without long shredding solos.

Just like Shades of Grey, Hope For A Normal Life has a signature riff. For the first time on "Beg for it" Hardcore Superstar slows it down. Hope For A Normal Life is a great mid-tempo song with a sing-along chorus.

The energy level is up again on Bad Behaviour. Compared to "Dreamin in a Casket" Hardcore Superstar once again sounds inspired and really got some great melodies down for this album. Bad Behaviour builds up for the chorus - a melodic street sleaze rock song.

Another grower is Spit It Out. It has a great groove and in your face attitude. The chorus isn't as memorable as the others, but even the lowest level on this record is high.

Illegal Fun is the sister to We Don't Celebrate Sundays. The guitar work from Zino is great. Hardcore Superstar sounds best when they play direct snotty Hard Rock filled with street attitude and Jocke Berg's sleazy vocals up-front.

Take Them All Out is a great way to round off the album. It has a few more aspects that the usual pounding rockers from Hardcore Superstar. Check out the guitar solo where its cut down to the bone with only the bass thundering and the drums pounding. The production suits the music. Innocent Boy closes the album with style and is another favorite on this strong album.

This album has all the hooks one wished for on "Dreamin 'in a Casket", but "Beg for It" doesn't surpass the self-titled album. However, this is a great strong album proving Hardcore Superstar is back sounding better than ever! Let the music do the talking and spin this CD.

Really good album even if the suprise fx don't work anymore !
The only low point imho ,it's the guitar mix sometimes very Non-cohesive with the rest...Maybe it's because the Vic Zino guitarz are truly f*-)°in' Heavy
Anyway, the songs are great Anthems as always and Jocke is an "hell of a frontman"
