Black Stone Cherry - Black Stone Cherry
This young Kentucky band deserves to be heard.

Black Stone Cherry was honored "best new band" at Classic Rock Magazine awards. The band also got the prestigious support slot on the sold out Def Leppard/Whitesnake co-headline UK stadium tour.

The debut album "Black Stone Cherry" is a melting pot of Southern Rock, blues and groovy heavy rock. Singer Chris Robertson is a young lookalike of Ronnie Van Zant and his vocals are just as powerful as Van Zant. Robertson has a dark bluesy voice that sounds somewhere in between his southern rock heroes and Zakk Wylde.

The album is founded on some unique songs, which are the cornerstones of the album. The opener Rain Wizard is powerful yet melodic, while the up-tempo Backwoods Gold gets you up like you had a stick of dynamite in your ass. When the weight comes down and Lonely Train are both fantastic powerful songs with great melodic choruses. Both the groovy rocker Crosstown Woman and Hell and High Water are irresistible catchy tunes.

Black Stone Cherry has found a niche somewhere between Blackfoot and Black Label Society.  The music is founded on the old deeds of guitar, bass, drums and spiced with impressive song writing. The band brings a youthful energy to the table that makes this record very potent.
