Glyder - Playground for Life
Irish rockers Glyder has often been compared to fellow countrymen Thin Lizzy. In 2004 Glyder opened for Thin Lizzy (Sykes/Gorham version). The Lizzy inspiration is obvious on Puppet Queen and singer Tony Cullen sounds very alike Phil Lynott on Sleeping Gun.

The album is diverse but rooted in seventies rock. The opening track Gamblers Blues is a fast paced Rock N Roll track, while closing track The Merryground has a special Pink Floyd emotion to it. The title track is among highlights - the verse brings a moody emotion to the song. The chorus is splendid.

Glyder are not copycats, but a young up-coming Rock N´Roll band. The music has lots of swagger and energy. Singer Tony Cullen has characteristic voice but sometimes drowns in the twin guitar inferno.
Glyder has gotten help from legendary producer Chris Tsangarides. The album is consistent and straight to the bone with no fillers.

Glyder plays Sweden Rock festival 2008, so I will make sure to check them out. A nice surprise and very welcomed addition to the scene.
