What is your name and your current position in the band?
Dacia Bridges, Lead singer
Tell us about the history of the band. More specifically, when was the band formed, how did you meet, and have there been any particular highlights or low points in your career, any crucial events that have taken you where you are today?
The bands history is that we all have been making music for some time now and in different projects.
The band was formed in the early summer of 2004 and we met in Stuttgart.
Highlights have been that I had a number 1 dance hit& at the same time I released a rock record.
The low points were that every one said that it could never be done and that I should forget it and with that came absolutely no support.
I thinks thats why I am where I am today, to just keep doing what I love no matter what any one says!
Was there ever a time when you wondered if your band would remain just a local outfit and never make it in the industry?
I guess you always think that once in a while but its only when you forget why you do music because at the end of the day it shouldn't really matter..And to be honest we still have a journey in front of us.:-)
What is your latest album and why should people buy it?
The lastest album is called Dacia&The WMD and its a modern Rock-N-Roll record.I think people should buy it if they want to hear something positive and fun!Its good ear candy!:-)
How would you categorize the style of the band? And did you ever consider or try playing other styles of music than the one(s) you are playing now?
We are Rock-N-Roll band with alot of different influence's. With different styles ..ofcourse its always considered because I do different music and so does the rest of the band.We are very opened mined and we love to make music.
Can you share with us one or two of your favourite moments with the band?
In the rehersal room when we finished' Who's To Say'.We were all standing there, like this is so different but so cool! And we just stood there smiling at eachother. The other moment was when we flew to Nice France to play. we had a real good time
How is the writing process in the band?
Its always different but for the most part Alex Scholpp and I write all the songs.
What brought you on the path to becoming a musician? Did you ever consider or take any other paths through life besides music?
I liked being on stage and making people feel what I have felt before from other artists. Its a great blessing.
Yes, first I wanted to be a Oceanographer, then a Fashion Designer.
Do you have any idols? If yes, who?
Prince and David Lee Roth
Do you have any regrets looking back at your career? For example any songs or even full albums that you regret recording? If so, what made you regret it?
I would say yes..I wouldnt say that I would regret the records or tracks I have made because you learn all the time what to do better next time around. But i do regret with who I have made some music with. I used wrong judgement in people.
Are there particular songs in your catalogue that the fans love but you're not particular fond of yourself?
No..I like all the songs..shure I wish I could of sang or written better lyrics sometimes but I like the tracks.
How important do you rate the lyrical side of your albums?
I think its very important.because as it was once said( and what I am a huge fan of) is to make something difficult come across simple&easy.
And these sort of lyrics&melodies in songs are a real pain in the ass to do!But very rewarding when accomplished!
What do you think about the state of the music industry today?
You know the older we get we always say that what we see now has also been said&done before us...but still today I think its tragic.I mean for example when Paris Hilton can make a record and hit #1, wow!thats unbelieveable...hahaha..Its more about fame or?but thats just my opinion. There are so many good and talented artists out there. Its just a shame that in this life time we will never get to hear or see them all.Our overcontrolled music industry(so to say) has made shure of that&sold us out.Like the old saying:No doe ,No Show.Sehr Schade!
What do you think is the best way to fight music piracy?
I don't think you can any more.We would have to go back to the 70's.
Do you have a life philosophy? If yes, what is it?
Yes Kinda.I wish more people would learn to love, live and be more open. Then I think you wouldn't have so many hateful and ego driven crazies running around.
Can you describe a typical day in your life?
Yeah kinda..I get up:-)drink a cup of coffee,work out,get on the computer(if I have to leave for a job,then I go)make a few calls,rehearse,have some food, wine,read..go to bed!:-)
What do you like to spend your time with besides music?
Riding my Harley, dancing, reading a good book&snuggle with my man!
What's the craziest thing that has ever happened on a tour?
Once, I got to a venue and when the door opened to the van,I fell out.Just like in a movie!hahaha..
You're heading off to live on a deserted island for a couple of years with your portable entertainment system... Which albums, movies or books would you bring? (Max. 3 of each)
Thats so hard to narrow to 3 but I try:-)
