Travers & Appice feat. T.M. Stevens - Live at the House of Blues
You ready to ROCK?!

Asks Carmine Appice just before we kick off this live album recorded at legendary The House of Blues.

And we really don't have a choice because when these three heavyweights set off down the road of blues with the first track, Taken, you litterally get taken for a ride you don't really want to end, because this is a recording that is all about one thing, playing live and loving it!

These three cats, who I'd better introduce to you: Carmine Appice (drums), Pat Travers (guitar) and T.M. Stevens (bass), are a legend in their own time. They have all played and still do with so many great names that it is just too many to mention here, so you just have to take my word for it, and trust me even though you don't know who they are by name, you have heard them play. Well when three cats such as these get together to play live and like it so much that they decide to put out an album, you know it's worth checking out.

However when I first got this album, I was a bit unsure about how the funky agressive metal bass playing of T.M. Stevens would fit in with the more rock and blues oriented Appice and Travers, but it was time wasted, because they are a match made in heaven.

Live at The House of Blues is just big bad gritty blues played by big bad gritty musicians. It's not an album that will change the ways of the world, but it is an album that will leave you grinning and knowing that you have just taken part in a great experience of a massive trio laying it down live.

And it gets better, because you get a bonus dvd too, so not only do you get a treat for the ears, you also get a little something to pamper the eyes too! My version of Live at The House of Blues is a promotional album, and that did not have the bonus dvd included, but if it is anything like the cd, it should be good!
