Dark Fortress - Stab Wounds
DF bring some Dark Death in the vein of Anaal Nathrak and Naglfar.

Nothing new, maybe a little derivative, but very well done and pro all the way.

If you like Naglfar and that style and you want some more then this is a treasure to pick up.

If you're looking for the next level in that style the you'd be amiss to blow the cash on it.

No doubt lots of time, money, and sweat went into this record. Still I'm gonna walk the fence on it and neither be critical or extra praiseworthy.

The production is there, the songs are there, and the musicianship is there! It's been done before but it is Dark Fortresses' version and so that does lend it some individuality and variation.

A band to watch and they should be growing I think. The potential is certainly there. They just need to dig a little deeper and find a way that separates them a little more from a damn tight pack!

The album cover design by famous metal artist Travis Smith doesn't hurt either!

I rate this record a 10. This record has been in my CD-player for weeks. It's not good. Best Black Metal album of 2004 hands down! Dark Fortress have created a Masterpiece here! No hesitation to say this a total 10.
Every song on this record is engaging, memorable, fast and slow, it's just incredible. Very few black metal bands can write a record this professional. I rank Dark Fortress right up there with Dissection, Immortal, Satyricon. This is elite!
