Neil Turbin - Threatcon Delta
Most of you older metal heads will remember Neil from his Anthrax days.

He hasn't lost a trick, let me say that first! Same kick ass vocal style and biting lyrics with a host of special guests too numerous to mention here, make this a must have Thrash album.

The choruses are anthemic and you find yourself screaming out the lyrics with no problem the first time through.

The guitar work is top notch thrash riffing with guitar solos and melody lines aplenty. We are talking hooks here and tons of them!

My only beef is the production is a little weak...but not so bad that it is annoying or anything.
You certainly get your money's worth with a healthy 14 tracks of music here. Maybe too many tunes but that's ok cause they're pretty much all winners with maybe 4 or 5 filler feeling songs on the disc. Namely tracks 6, 8 the uninspiring cover of Jimmy Hendrix' "Dolly Dagger", track 9, 10, 11,& 12.

Other than those you have a great thrash record to bang your head to.

Yeah really they could have cut this baby down to about 9 or 10 tunes and left the rest to rest in peace! hehe

A good return to form for Neil and hopefully not the last!

Check www.neilturbin.com for tours and tracks to hear and of course to buy if you'd like. Enjoy.... I did.

Isn't it N-E-I-L. If you're gonna do a CD review, at least learn how to spell. And that would be www.Neilturbin.com right?

Vic,
Take it easy bro!
We will get that taken care of for you and my apologies to NEIL for the mistake. I had a huge interview with Neal Morse to type up and probably just got used to spelling it with an A instead of an I. Let's see....hhhhmmmmm yeah i am a human......could it be you don't make mistakes! If so i want to worship you because that would mean you're God! hehe
The comment section here is really reserved for comments on the review itself or the album, rather than type errors. I have a personal email that you can link from the satff page and so does the webmaster and founder Steen. Type errors would be better addressed to us personally through email instead of trying to insult my intelligence or anyone else here. So thanks for the insult errr i mean comment there Vic Rattlehead!

This is a very old school and classic thrash metal masterpiece. I don't know why you guys gave it only a 6? *scratches head* Neil Turbin is in top vocal form and his cast of musicians is quite impressive. I haven't been able to get it out of my cd player since buying last week. KEEP THE FIRE ROCKS!

Check out our ratings explanations. I think 6 covers it. Good record to have yes! Too long though like i said! Fillers are annoying and, there are some, IMO and that is just that....IMO.
His vocals are incredible here...no loss of power at all!
Thanks for the comment and you may need some Head N Shoulders that's all!:)

This is NOT a thrash metal album...metal yes...thrash NO...stop trying to exploit this album as such simply because this guy did the vocals on fistful of metal...its a very shallow attempt at publicity!

there are thrash songs on threatcon delta. there are also classic metal songs as well. it's not all thrash, but for matt to say it's not thrash is untrue, since there are a few. how do you figure an album review a shallow attempt at publicity matt? this a great comeback album for neil turbin. it's not anthrax nor is it trying to be. it's not an anthrax ripoff or cover band like some other anthrax singers have tried, but an original effort by one of the most original and legendary singers of thrash.
