Falkenbach - Ok Nefna Tysvar Ty
Seems to me like 6 years away has done no harm to the creativity of Falkenbach's Vratyas Vakyas. An innovative take on Folk/Viking metal to say the least. Haunting and beautiful the album comes complete with epic choirs and flutes, strings and an understated but very present heavy guitar sound in there as well.

There are no speed riffing and double kick drums to blind you with musical dexterity as with most metal albums. These songs are just that, Songs! The music is to serve the songs and songwriting skills of Vakyas.

Killer melodies and harmonies bring you to the shores of Valhalla in glorious triumph with the warriors of the vast Viking landscape of a forgotten time.

Falkenbach are one of the cream of the Viking/Folk metal crop! Feel no fear in adding this one to your Viking collection.

The vocals are mostly clean but Vakyas throws in the black metal sounding growl a time or two just to let you know his balls are fully intact!

The songs are consistantly midpaced fitting right in line with the majority of tribal folk music melodies.

Grab yourself a stone goblet, break out the leather and fur garments and afix to your noggin a metal helmet with bull horns and come relive the glorious Viking past!

Incredible musician, massively unmatched in his skill. The exquisite, well-researched lyrics just literally BOIL your blood into a totally new substance. Unique sound, I have never heard anything even close to Vakyas' masterpieces.
Smooth, hard, & very, VERY powerful harmonies.
