Kamelot - Roy Khan Officially Leaves Kamelot
Sunday, April 24, 2011
I was hoping this wasn't going to happen... but it did. I love every moment of Khan's career with Kamelot, with the exception of the snoozy first disc with him "Siege Perilous". His theatrical style put them on a different level than other power metal bands. They were also headed into a direction that I was anxious to see come to it's peak. Since the progression with Khan has been aborted, that makes (for me) the default pinnacle "The Black Halo". I believe they can continue on without him, I have very much enjoyed some of the live clips that have surfaced with Fabio on board, but it is just not quite the same with Khan.

I'm pretty upset and angry over this, really. Khan can redeem himself if he helps kickstart Conception again. I would completely forgive these transgressions if that were to occur.

Quiet Riot Return With New Singer
Tuesday, September 14, 2010
Not terrible is my first impression. Huff's voice lacks the gritty, throaty rasp that DuBrow had, and has an altogether smoother approach. However those that are turning out for the concerts to only to hear the hits like "Cum On Feel the Noize" will be satisfied.

It is a sad, sad day when a true legend passes away. RIP The true King of Rock N Roll.

Shadow Gallery vocalist passes away
Sunday, November 2, 2008
oh NO! That's my first reaction...
Truly, I am crushed.
I loved Mike Baker, he had a fabulous voice, just truly wonderful.
"Hope For Us" was one of my favorite ballads.
Well, it still IS.
I'm just crushed, this is so sad and so sudden.
He really will be missed.

Stratovarius returns in 2009 - New album and live shows
Friday, October 24, 2008
Good grief. I don't even know WHAT to say about this. I thought Strato was done with and now they have a new guitarist and are going to do another album?

Well bravo! It seems weird, since it was Tolkki's band as far as I knew.. but I know others have gone on without their creator so perhaps Strato can do the same. Koti and Jens made up a huge chunk of their sound IMO and Koti knows how to write Strato sounding songs so this could be a good thing.

Virgin Steele Reissue news
Sunday, October 5, 2008
Oh MAN I have to have Life Among the Ruins again.
Its one of the best albums..... ever.
I have owned two copies. Both which met terrible fates.
It is an INCREDIBLE album and I am pleased to see it being rereleased along with the Heaven and Hell duology.

If only DeFeis could recreate his days of glory here... I'll keep hoping!

Edguy - New album cover art revealed
Thursday, September 18, 2008
Hopefully Tobi's energies went into this Edguy album rather than the Avantasia. It was very disappointing but he can do better so I have....HOPE!! That cover art though. Can't say that I like that too much.
