Tuesday, February 2, 2010 - Threshold - Muse cover posted online
Threshold have just posted their version of Muse's hit "Supermassive Black Hole" online.

Check it out at the bands MySpace: www.myspace.com/threshold

The song can also be purchased as digital only single including an alternate version of the Song "Slipstream", the opener of their latest effort "Dead Reckoning" here.

Keyboarder Richard West recently stated: ""Supermassive Black Hole" was such a huge hit for MUSE, it's become a modern classic and it's still in the top ten of the UK rock charts after 150 weeks..! I hope MUSE enjoy THRESHOLD's reworking of their song, we've stayed fairly true to the original but with some added THRESHOLD heaviness."

The band will also re-issue their latest effort "Dead Reckoning" including instrumental versions of all songs of the album as a bonus - the digital release of the package is scheduled for mid February!

West states: "We often get requests from fans wanting access to instrumental versions of our songs, so after seeing bands like NIGHTWISH and MASTODON release extended versions of their albums with instrumentals included, it seemed logical for THRESHOLD to do the same with "Dead Reckoning". So whether they're being used for karoake competitions, holiday video soundtracks or just for singing along in the shower, we're happy to make them available."

Sunday, May 17, 2009 - Threshold to tour Europe in Autumn 2009
Threshold will tour Europe in the fall of 2009 and promise a radically different show. The first handful of dates has now been announced with more to follow.

29 Oct 2009: Zeche Carl, Essen, Germany
30 Oct 2009: Colos Saal, Aschaffenburg, Germany
01 Nov 2009: Z7, Pratteln, Switzerland
07 Nov 2009: Boerderij, Zoetermeer, Netherlands

Commented Threshold guitarist Karl Groom: "The tour this Autumn looks like a great opportunity to play some songs I have long looked forward to. Damian took on an enormous task of learning so many lyrics since he rejoined the band, but now we have the possibility to work on a whole new live set before recording a new studio album. With some previously unperformed epics and a new stage show I hope fans will enjoy this tour."

Wednesday, September 19, 2007 - Threshold to release "Best of" album
Threshold will release their first ever "Best Of" collection in November, featuring over 140 minutes of music from all their studio albums plus some previously unreleased radio edits. The album will be released by Threshold's previous label Inside Out Music. The tracklisting for the compilation, entitled "The Ravages Of Time (The Best of Threshold)", was selected by the band in conjunction with the label. "The decision to include the unreleased single edits was because we know there are a lot of fans who are frustrated when there are edits made but not available on CD", commented Richard West. "Of course there wasn't room for everything but between us we thought it was a good overall list".

The artwork was designed by Thomas Ewerhard, who was responsible for many of Threshold's previous album covers including the iconic Hypothetical and Subsurface. The new cover was originally created for the band's previous album when it had the working title of "Pilot In The Sky Of Dreams". The 24 page booklet will include a new biography written by Trevor Raggatt.

The following is taken from the Inside Out press release:

Eight studio albums, two live cuts and several exclusive fan club releases, plus tours alongside renowned acts such as Dream Theater, Psychotic Waltz, Enchant, Pain Of Salvation and Dead Soul Tribe: Threshold have long left their mark on the international rock music scene.

Naturally, The Ravages Of Time includes important compositions and classics by the band, among them the lavish "Sanity"s End", which effortlessly takes the 10-minute hurdle and proves that Threshold always allow their albums enough space to breathe. "You can"t judge our songs with a stopwatch", guitarist Karl Groom explained some years ago, accounting for the fact that expansive arrangements are part of his band"s concept, as numbers such as "Falling Away", "The Art Of Reason", "A Tension Of Souls", "Innocent", "Fragmentation", and the haunting "Oceanbound" with its memorable line "Let the sky become an ocean, pull me in above my head" prove. Then there are previously unreleased radio edits of "Slipstream" and "Pilot In The Sky Of Dreams" from their current album release, Dead Reckoning, which arrived at the stores in spring 2007, plus rare radio versions of the classics, "Pressure" and "Exposed", which confirm that Threshold"s numbers lose none of their fascination even in this condensed format.

CD One: The Latter Years
1. Slipstream (radio edit)
2. Light And Space
3. Mission Profile
4. Falling Away
5. The Ravages Of Time
6. Phenomenon
7. Pressure (radio edit)
8. Fragmentation
9. Oceanbound
10. The Art Of Reason
11. Pilot In The Sky Of Dreams (radio edit)

CD Two: The Former Years
1. The Latent Gene
2. A Tension Of Souls
3. Eat The Unicorn
4. Consume To Live
5. Innocent
6. Exposed (radio edit)
7. Sanity's End
8. The Whispering
9. Voyager II

"The Ravages Of Time (The Best of Threshold)" will be released in the US on 20 November and Europe on 19 November (Germany, Austria and Switzerland on 16 November).

Tuesday, August 21, 2007 - Threshold are counting down to their Live Reckoning tour
Threshold are currently making final preparations for their forthcoming European tour starting at the end of August. The tour is being presented by Rock Hard and Eclipsed magazines, and features a strong three band support package featuring Communic, Machine Men and Serenity. The tour takes in Germany, Holland, Czech Republic, Hungary, France, Switzerland and Belgium, with Threshold going on to play further dates in England, Denmark and the US later in the year with the likes of It Bites, Kamelot and After Forever.

Threshold recently experienced the unexpected departure of their singer Mac just days before their first festivals of the year, but fortunately the band's original vocalist Damian Wilson was able to step in for all this year's tour dates. Wilson sang on the band's first and third albums, but apart from a few live UK shows before the release of Wounded Land he has only toured once with the band back in 1997. "Having Damian Wilson back on vocals adds an edge to the shows this time around", says guitarist and founder member Karl Groom. "Fans who have never had a chance to see him perform with Threshold now have a great opportunity we never thought would happen."

Damian Wilson is also currently lead singer of Headspace, a British progressive rock band featuring keyboard player Oliver Wakeman, son of the legendary Yes keyboard player Rick Wakeman. Fortunately the Threshold tour dates didn't clash with any Headspace commitments, and after playing two festivals with Threshold in July, Wilson was able to commit to the rest of Threshold's tour schedule. "Playing the festivals was a lot of fun, even without preparation and it was compelling to be greeted with such a positive response. I guess it's the same with most singers; give me a stage and I'm happy, give me an audience and I'm thrilled."

Also new to the band's touring line-up this year is guitarist Pete Morten, filling in for Nick Midson who decided to take some time off from the band last year. "This is a moment in my life that I am very much looking forward to and I don't plan on taking it for granted", says Morten. He also fronts his own band who are currently being produced by Karl Groom. "I see this tour with Threshold as an amazing opportunity to not only play with an amazing band and further my craft as a musician, but see this as a great promotional vehicle for my own band Soliloquy."

This year's set list will include a blend of new songs from the Dead Reckoning album alongside older classics including songs from when Damian Wilson was in the band. "We're doing a few tracks from Wounded Land and Extinct Instinct, but the main focus is to promote the new album." says keyboard player Richard West. "We ended the last two festivals with This Is Your Life (from Dead Reckoning) and Damian really owned it, he gave it a new flavour and it sounded amazing."

Threshold's "Live Reckoning" tour kicks off in Germany on 31 August 2007.

Sunday, July 22, 2007 - Mac issues statement
It seems that Mac has left Threshold for good. Here is a statement he posted yesterday at the official Threshold forum:

"Sorry it took so long to give this stament. But, I`m also sorry it took me so long to realise I had to get on with the rest of my life and eventually make a decent living. I know the timing was bad and I`m very grateful to Damian for standing in for me. Unfortunately it`s absolutely impossible to live on fresh air alone. Next time you listen to a Threshold album picture my girlfriend having to work overtime to make it possible for me to go on tour, not to mention all the jobs I chose to give up to continue with Threshold. Once again, the timing was bad.... I was up all Friday night (13.07.2007) considering this and decided it was time to support my family 100%. For all the Fans out there take what you have and enjoy it (I know I was devasted when Led Zeppelin came to an end). Thanks for all your support, all the best for Threshold and Threshold Fans for the future,
Cheers Mac"

Threshold will travel to Leipzig in Germany next week to shoot a video for the song Pilot In The Sky Of Dreams, taken from their forthcoming album Dead Reckoning. The song has been edited by producers / band members Karl Groom and Richard West at Thin Ice Studios down from a length of 9.44 to just under 4 minutes for the video version.

The video will be produced by Film-M, who's previous credits include Disillusion, Amon Amarth, Dew-Scented and Dead Soul Tribe. The band were meant to shoot the video this week, but snow at London's airports made it impossible to travel.

Pilot In The Sky Of Dreams will also be released as a download single on 5th March. The track list for the single will be:

2. Pilot In The Sky Of Dreams - album version (9.44)

Under new chart rules the single should qualify for the official UK singles chart on downloads alone.

Threshold's forthcoming album Dead Reckoning will be released on 23 March (US 20 March, UK 26 March) through Nuclear Blast Records.
