Wednesday, June 14, 2006 - Ten album news | Frontiers Records will release Ten's new album, The Twilight Chronicles, on August 25th.
Singer and songwriter Gary Hughes describes the new recording as, "Epic beyond the limits of all previous Ten albums, with vast and intricate orchestra sections that can only be described as Cinematic".
Gary worked endless hours in his studio in Manchester with the precise task to create "the highest productional scale Ten album ever". Hughes used as reference Ten's two most successful releases ever (The Name of The Rose and Spellbound) and mixed them with a "Troy" meets the "London Symphony Orchestra" approach.
The result is a record that features mighty orchestral passages and boasts all the usual opus of hooks, riffs, haunting melodies and themes that are always expected and associated with any Ten release: a mixture of rock and ballads with a strong atmospheric mood and lyrics that tell tales of love, lust, death, glory, revenge and darkness.
The final tracklisting:
The Prologue/Rome
The Chronicles
Elysian Fields
Hallowed Ground
This Heart Goes On
Oblivion
The Twilight Masquerade
Tourniquet
Born To The Grave
When This Night Is Done
Epilogue
An mp3 sample preview of the song 'The Chronicles' can be downloaded here.
In addition to this new release, Frontiers Records and Ten agreed to officially re-release in mid-price series Return To Evermore, the band's previous studio album, with the inclusion of the original Japanese only bonus track 'It's You I Adore'. Both albums will be made simultaneously available in Europe on August 25th. · Discuss this news further (0) |

Thursday, September 18, 2003 - Ten news | Gary Hughes, singer of the UK based melodic rock band TEN spoke to BW&BK recently about the band's upcoming album which, if all goes well, will be released in February 2004.
"I finished recording my solo record, Once And Future King, in May and we began the pre-production for the new Ten record in June. It's sounding great and we're all really pleased with it. There's a great camaraderie in the band now, and potentially it's the best record we've done. Bringing a new guitarist into the band, Chris Francis (who replaces Vinny Burns) has proven to be very good for us. My solo record is a great showcase for Chris because he shines all over the place, and I was keen on having people hear him on something other than a Ten record first so that the comparisons to Vinny won't be as extreme."
"We've got mixing dates for the album set for the beginning of November, so on that basis we'll be finished by the end of the month and have the record out by February."
