Tuesday, July 5, 2011 - Guitarist Johannes "Axeman" Losbäck leaves Wolf
Guitarist Johannes "Axeman" Losbäck has left Swedish Metal band Wolf. Axeman had the following comments on the split:

"It's with a heavy (metal) heart that I announce that I'm stepping down from my duties in the second best band in the world; Wolf. It was a very tough and difficult decision to make since I love Wolf and heavy metal, but I simply can't give Wolf 666% at this point. It's not fair to the fans, the boys or me to not give it all and I need to step down. The downward spiral of the music business, which makes bands and musicians work harder and harder and trying to survive, has taken its toll on me."

"I'd like to thank all, and I mean ALL fans for the ride of the past nine years. I am a fan of yours, so I love you all to death! Also, thanks to Wolf members past and present for sharing the life and giving me the opportunity to express myself through music. I am deeply proud and honored to have made music with you! I started my relationship with Wolf as a fan and now I get to end it as a fan. Thank you all, 666 times over and over. You WILL hear from me again! Oh...and Celtic Frost rules!"

Axeman will be replaced by Simon Johansson (Abstrakt Algebra, Bibleblack, Memory Garden). Simon has played with Wolf briefly before. He took care of guitar duties for four shows, when Wolf supported W.A.S.P in 2009.

Friday, April 2, 2010 - Wolf - Hail Caesar video online

Wolf have just posted their new video clip, for the song 'Hail Cesar' at Youtube.

Axeman Johannes stats the following about the video: "When approached by Morning Star Films to shoot a video for 'Hail Cesar' we were thrilled since we've never worked with them before. They had similar ideas as we did for a video since we wanted a "down to earth" heavy metal video. No fancy stuff, just a lotta flying v's and head banging. We decided to let Morning Star follow us from load-in till doors close. And where better to capture the insanity of a Wolf gig than in Gothenburg/Sweden at the Belsepub on our Ravenous tour?

All said and done! We give you a video with us, our fans, beer, guitars, tattoos, sweat and the works. We wanted the intense feeling of a club gig and we wanted to make it feel like "you're there". We thru in a few clips from a movie as well, just to give it an artistic feel... but truth said... we just wanted the head banging right?

Working on a video including live clips make you wanna play live even more, so we're very excited to unleash this live fury on the upcoming gigs at the Rock Hard in Germany and also, for the first time for Wolf, in Malaysia at the Kuala Lumpur fest!

So enjoy... we goddamn did... and still do!"

Tuesday, January 12, 2010 - 2009 - The Year of the Wolf
Wolf have released the following update:

The Year of the WOLF (revelations of 2009)

Most Metal moment:
Getting the crowd in London/Underworld, on the Ravenous over the uk tour, to sing "All Hail Evile" during the chorus of Hail Ceasar, to the memory of Mike Alexander who sadly passed away. It was a genuin feeling of that bond that excists in the metal community around the world. We are honored.

Most Non-Metal moment:
There wasn't any.

Most Headbanging moment:
The guy who won the Evil Star jacket at Hammerfest. Not only did he win the jacket, he banged his head faster than Steve Achims blastbeats on the Legion album. We hail you and hope the jacket is well used! Congrats!

Proudest Moment:
Getting a Swedish Grammi nomination for Ravenous. Offcourse we didn't win because we're to loud for the jury, but it did feel good to get that nomination after all the hard work we put in to this band. We did, however, win 2 giant Snickers bars at Liseberg. Not bad for just putting 4 kronor on the table.

Most ? moment:
No gigs in Germany! What the f... well, thats all taken care of for 2010!

Best educational moment:
Richard Raptor teaching Criss Piss from Cauldron about life, death and other morbid tales, under the influence. We wonder if Richard was the wiser one after that. Time will tell....

Best show 2009:
Grand Magus at Hammerfest.
Runner up: Saxon at Bloodstock.
Runner up 2: Niklas Viper as special guest in the christmas show: Hells Jingle Bells.

Most "What the hell" moment:
The dude in a wolf mask jumping up on stage and rocked out at Nottingham.

Most precious moment:
Johannes Axeman rocking a dart with Craig the canadian funboy.

Most productive moment NOT:
Our merchgirl getting to drunk so she was thrown out of a club. Our roadie, Gimli Mason, took over and saved the merchandise stand...til a string broke on a Dean V so we had to shout out for a helping hand...but realizing the spare V was right behind Anders Tornado's amp.

Coversation of the year:
"20 year old finnish girl: Do you have Facebook?
Niklas Viper: No, but we have Myspace.
20 year old finnish girl: Myspace? (rolling her eyes) Oh, that's so eighties!"
When we got home from Finland we got Facebook right away. Coldn´t have people think we like the eighties, could we? Ha ha!

Best "Meeting your idols" moment:
On tour, Niklas Viper meets Blackie Lawless of W.a.s.p. and starts to chat with him. The conversation starts off normal, then Viper turns into an excited 13 year old fan and Blackie gets annoyed, and just turn his back and leaves. "It was worth it", comments Viper.

Most "The metal took over" moment:
Johannes Axeman & Jason Decay (Cauldron) was banging their heads and fists on stage with canadian metal-god THOR and got so excited that they happen to knock over the guitar amp. It hit the floor with a MIGHTY CLASH. It was an accident offcourse, but they both decided to run for it. It was just to much metal for them to handle.

The good overcome the bad:
We all know that the food in the UK isnt so good but the crowd is 100% Heavy metal and true,You Rock UK.

Discovery of the year:
Its now official that the underwear Richard Raptor uses is from Tarzan himself.

Discovery of the year 2:
A orange (colour, that is) amplifier is not soo bad after all. In fact its really good, Rock on Mr Viper!

Consumer of the year:
Anders Tornado. On what? Redwine and Rush offcourse.

Most singing-along moment:
Pounding metal fest in Madrid. The chorus to Voodoo just blew the roof down. Thanx Spain!

See ya ALL frontrow in 2010!
Anders, Johannes, Niklas & Richard.
