Grace Slick died and came back as Agnete M.Kirkevaag to sing for
Madder Mortem and bring them all the originality they can stand. She also has brought more respect to female singers in metal which has been a difficult thing to do for most female singers. You get alot of high pitched opera nuts or ladies that can't carry a tune to save their butts along with all those ladies who don't know what it is to come up with actual melodies when they write the lyrics. Agnete has got it all. Lower voice with unique sound and timbre, the abilty and knowledge of what it is to sing in metal music and a penchant for melody. Add to what she brings some awesome and original music and you have a classic album here. You'll find quiet spots, heavy spots, in between spots, colors, grays, blacks, whites. The whole spectrum of metal and gothic alternative mixing together like cotton candy and used motor oil! HaHa... it is a good thing my friends.
Venom and anti-venom for all that plagues you or all that you wish would plague you!
If there was ever a way to find beauty in something dark then i think
Madder Mortem have done so. Think of
Katatonia's "Viva Emptiness" and you start to get the idea of what is happening and some of the same elements
Katatonia uses
Madder Mortem takes and rapes to their own passionate twisting pleasure.
Stand outers include but are not limited to:
Necropol Lit, Rust Cleansing and
Jigsaw (the pattern and the puzzle).
Production is concise and clear and will provide you with no audio blurs to distract you from the psychosis within!
Come hear what females in metal can really do when given the chance! Awesome!
