Sandra Dee - Visions of Pain
Sandra Dee is the latest group to join the Eonian Records roster.

The sound may be a bit weak but we get lots of attitude, guitar duels and strong vocals. Sadly the album suffers from being a demo.

Sandra Dee formed when Hair metal peaked - the music of Sandra Dee has a dark and more metallic edge mainly because of the massive guitar work and the lack of high pitch vocals that characterized the Hair scene.

The rear sleeve has two pictures - one representing the band in 1989 - 1990  and one from the 1991-1992 era. Just by looking at the picture you sense that the band developed towards a heavier sound.

The band hails Visions of Pain as one of their favorite tracks and stating it as a prime example of how they wanted to sound and what they hoped to accomplish as a hard rock/metal group. The track is groovy, dark and not the kind of track you hum after one listen only. The band sound tight, but in general the material needs a kick in the butt to truly convince.

The band hails from the Chicago area and played numerous gigs in Illinois, before taking a joint decision to move to California because of  better career possibilities. The band sadly got lost in that scene since they were so many at the time, but we still have these demos as a testament to Sandra Dee.

The album is solid with 10 tracks with a playing time of 44 minutes. However, Sandra Dee sorely lacks the hit single that makes you raise the eyebrows and prevents this from being background music only.
