Mick Ronson - Heaven and Hull
This is the best Mick Ronson solo album!!

Ronson sets the record straight on album opener Don't Look Down. It features tasty licks and blistering solos from Ronson. The guitar talks and Ronson expresses himself through the guitar on the song.

I never really understood how come Ronson was such a valued player till I heard this album. He has a unique feel and his playing is a true pleasure all the way through the album. Check out Life's a River and the acoustic You and Me only underlining the diversity in Ronson's guitar playing.

"Heaven and Hull" is a great album since it features some of the vocalists that Ronson worked with throughout his short career. David Bowie and John Mellencamp sings on a tune each and the disc ends with bonus track All the Young Dudes featuring Ian Hunter on vocals plus members of Def Leppard and Queen. The song was recorded at the Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert at Wembley Stadium. Despite being ill Mick Ronson got on stage and delivered his final live performance.

In 1993 Mick Ronson was diagnosed with liver cancer. He was determined to finish the album and therefore friends lend a hand. Heaven and Hull was released after his death with Joe Elliott from Def Leppard in charge of finishing the album. Joe Elliott also sings on Take a Long Line and delivers a great vocals performance on Don't Look Down

Mick Ronson died April 29th 1993. In 1994 "Heaven and Hull" saw the light of day. It is a great and worthy swan song.
