"Different Tomorrow" is the debut album from
Dirty Passion. The band was formed in Sweden 2006 with a mission to play straight forward Hard Rock inspired by the 80's scene.
The album is out on Denomination Records and released December 13th. The promo material from the label is pretty weak with only a copy of the artwork and a CDR with music.
Even though I don't review CDR's this is gonna be an exception because
Dirty Passion made me a bit curious when I saw them opening for Enuff Z'Nuff and
Faster Pussycat in their hometown Malmo - Sweden. The guys did a good job with their no frills Hard Rock.
"Different Tomorrow" doesn't disappoint. Bear in mind that this is a debut and of course the band sounds a bit green at times. However,
Dirty Passion has so many great things going for them. First and foremost
Dirty Passion has penned some really strong songs for the album. Sadly there is no CD booklet or any information regarding the songs or songwriters. However, these songs are strong and even after the first dozen listens you still want to press repeat.
Guitarist Christopher Olsson is a splendid player - check out guitar solo on
A Trip to Paradise. At first I though Emil Ekbladh was inspired by Joey Tempest but after spinning the record approx 20 times I am now convinced that Ekbladh
is Joey Tempest.
This is the kind of music I grew up with and it still holds up! The 80's was about having a good time.
Dirty Passion brings back the fun and also reintroduces great hard rock melodic rock songs. Just listen to the 80's Slam Dunk Rocker
Rockin' In The Night.
Dirty Passion is much welcomed to the scene with "Different Tomorrow", which is among the best Hard Rock albums of 2010.
